After blogging for 10 years, I have decided that it’s time to rebrand Verastic. Sure, Verastic has gone through minor changes in the past anyway, but this is the biggest, most dramatic change I have ever made. Verastic will be evolving into a new kind of site. Starting from April 15th 2016, Verastic will become a fashion and beauty blog that will focus on political views in the spiritual realm of gossip, blogging school, food, and DIY.
I kid, I kid!
Well, I half-kid. I was a writer before I started blogging, and I will always be a writer who blogs (versus a blogger who writes). But at the core, I’m a storyteller. I want to tell stories from the Nigerian/African perspective, but I cannot tell the stories alone because I am only one person, and there are so many stories floating out there that need to come home. Just to be clear, I’m not talking about fictional stories.
So, for this reason, I have decided to open Verastic up to guest posts. Literally every week, I get emails asking if I accept guest posts, and I have turned every one down. In fact, I get asked about guest posts so often that I added it to my FAQs as the very first question, although I don’t think anyone pays attention to my FAQs (but you should!). I have now updated my FAQs page to say that I indeed do accept guest posts.
The rebranding journey will not be drastic, nor will it be overnight. It will take a while, and changes will be made slowly, and eventually, I will have to redesign the entire blog. This excites me. I love it when my Verastic gets a face lift. The rebranding journey, however, will not change the tone of the blog, so don’t feel like I will sell out and start publishing stories that are not in line with my spirit. Also, I will not stop telling my personal stories, as those are my favorite kind to tell anyway.
Per the guest posts part, there’s a caveat: I’ll be introducing guest posts as a trial. I have held on to Verastic so tightly and refused to share her with anyone, but now that I’m open to doing so, I cannot say for sure how it will work out, and I am not afraid to say that I am not sure, and that I don’t know all the answers.
If you’re reading, I need your help, and there are many ways you can help: share the posts you read on Verastic, submit a post to be published on Verastic, keep reading Verastic, and leave comments when you do, so I can fall out my chair from laughing, and if I’m feeling discouraged, your words can (and will) make me feel better. I know this for sure because your words already make me feel like a rock star.
P.S. In case you missed it, I just launched a t-shirt line. *wide grin* Check it out!
P.P.S. The t-shirt line is not part of the rebranding journey; it’s a mere coincidence, as I’ve been dreaming about this t-shirt line for years. Read the post about that here.

Wishing you the very best on this journey, Vera. There is no better way to pass on a message than to tell stories.

I always read you (because I’m subscribed) but I hardly comment anymore. I can’t wait to see how Verastic evolves 😀
P.S: Congratulations on the Tshirt line
