Sweet Potatoes, how do you like the new look?
I have wanted to change Verastic’s look since last year, but there was always something more pressing that I needed to do with money. So, finally, in July, I started working on it. I was able to budget some money for the redesign of my online space. Although I started talking with the web designer since July, I am actually glad that the change did not happen till now because it fits in perfectly with the current season of my life: change.
So, what’s old? What’s new? And what’s blue? Wait, this isn’t a wedding. But some of it still applies.
What’s old? The content is mostly the same, but I will be adding a few things that I have wanted to do for a long, long time. If you are subscribed to the Sweet Potato Squad list (and you should be!), then you have probably read several times where I mentioned how slow I can be at executing my ideas. This is a terrible habit that I’m working on. It’s getting better, but I still have a long way to go. Back to the Sweet Potato Squad list: if you are not subscribed, I have embedded the form below. Go on and subscribe. Awesome exclusive content and tips. There might even be giveaways *wink!*
What’s new? I will be introducing new kinds of content. For example, that Features tab up there that rarely gets any content will start popping. Because I am a storyteller. And storytellers tell stories. I will also be starting several new series (not all at once), and I am quite excited for this. Also, Verastic now has a logo. In all my years of blogging, I have never had an official logo. I just usually create something and use it wherever, but now, there’s a logo. Do you like it? Still on the matter of new things, you have probably noticed that pink is no longer one of my colors. I opted to go for a cleaner, leaner look. I get a little disoriented when I visit a site that is too colorful, and on my own blog, I was sick of the pink. I don’t hate the color; I just got tired of seeing it.
At the bottom of the blog, I also now have a “spread” of my latest videos and Instagram posts – something I have wanted for a long time. Let’s just say that Verastic has become a little more visual, and as time goes by, you will see why. In the next coming weeks, I will be updating Verastic and all social media channels with the logo, On Verastic, I will be updating the pictures on the About Me page and other pages. So watch out for the changes, and when you see them, tell me what you think.
And finally, my first FREE downloadable content! One question bloggers and content creators always ask is how to pitch brands, what to include in the pitch, and what not to include in the pitch, etc. So I created a short document where I list five essential things to include in your pitch to brands. Download it for free. And happy pitching! And yes, there will be more downloadable content coming your way.
Thank you, Sweet Potatoes, for all your love. And here’s to 2018.

Hi Wendy! Glad I’m not alone, but we all do need to do better. And thank you for being a long time reader. Thank you so much. Oh, and thanks for liking the new look.

Welldone Vera. I love your new logo. Happy to see you grow! Just noticed that at the bottom of the blog, where you have a “spread” of latest videos, it doesn’t open the video, you can only hear the audio. Maybe I’m the only one experiencing this?
Vera Ezimora says
Whatttttt! Lemme go and try it out. So sorry about that. I didn’t even test to see if the “spread” was working. Just assumed it was.
Vera Ezimora says
Tinu, you’re absolutely right! It only plays the audio. I’m going to contact the web designer right now. Thank you.
