Before Whitney Houston’s unfortunate demise, she was working on a movie, Sparkle. The movie’s preview is now out. This is a movie that I would have probably gone to see, just because the story line seems interesting: fame, money, power, struggles, love, single motherhood? But knowing now that it is Whitney’s last work, I’ll definitely go see it. It’ll be coming out in August.
They say that an artist’s work is more valuable after he/she dies, so I predict that this movie will sell more because it is Whitney Houston’s last work, than because it is a great film. I am not implying that it is indeed a great film; I know nothing of this — yet. Unless the kind people who give early premiere tickets decide to look my way. *Hint, Hint* Watch the preview after the cut.
I watched this preview over and over. How can someone so alive be so dead? It’s just so weird seeing her in this movie, hearing her sing, and then remembering that she is no longer with us. May her soul rest in peace.
So what do you think of the movie? Do you think you’ll see it?
