*** Update: Number 21 has been purchased.
*** Update: Number 10 has been purchased.
*** Update: Number 9 has been purchased.
*** Update: Number 17 has been purchased.
1. The Nikon D90. Ever since I saw Ashton Kutcher in the commercial, I have wanted needed this camera. Oh, I can only imagine the kind of chemistry we would have. 12.9 megapixels of beauty. Picture courtesy of Best Buy.
2. Toyota Rav-4: It was a tough decision, but I decided to only add the Rav-4 to my birthday wish list this year. With the state of the economy, I thought it’d be rather insensitive to ask for a Range Rover. I’m quite understanding, I know. Picture courtesy of Toyota dot com.
9. Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe: Believe it or not, I have never, ever read this book. Sure, I know the story, but that’s just because I watched the movie (with Pete Edochie starring as Okonkwo), and of course, many are the things that have been said about this great novel — and the one who wrote it. So now, I want it for myself. Picture courtesy of Amazon.
10. The Lion And The Jewel by Wole Soyinka: Nope, have not read this either. *sigh* Picture courtesy of Amazon.
11. Cuff Down Ankle Boots from Bakers: These Western boots are made for walking. I want to walk in them! Who is buying? I wear a size 9, BUT let’s be safe and go with a 10. Picture courtesy of Bakers Shoes.
12. These peep-toe pumps: I don’t know this obsession I have with peep toe shoes, but it’s gotta stop. Okay, it doesn’t have to stop right now. I just love them. What else is there to say?
13. I want to carry this bag. Enough said. Courtesy of Macy’s.
14. Liz Claiborne Marietta sunglasses: Simple. Not too flashy. Me likes. Picture courtesy of Macy’s.
15. A/X Armani Exchange Sunglasses: I love, love, LOVE these glasses. I love them better than the previous one (number 14). I can just imagine myself on a hot summer day. HAWT! Picture courtesy of Macy’s
16. Efuru by Flora Nwapa. This, too, is another book that I need to read. So who wants to help mama? Mama being me, of course. Picture courtesy of Amazon.
17. That Devil’s No Friend Of Mine by J. D. Mason. I love J. D. Mason. I think she’s a brilliant writer. I don’t remember the name of the first book I read from her, but I loved it. I have loved everything from her since then. Picture courtesy of Amazon.
18. Be Careful What You Pray For by Kimberla Lawson Roby: I love her books, too. It’s usually dramatic and family oriented, the kind of stuff that happens to regular people. It’s almost like a Nigerian movie, and by that, I’m referring to the good Nigerian movie, not the ones that insult our intelligence. Picture courtesy of Amazon.
19. God Only Knows by Xavier Knight. I have never read anything from this author, but something about the name of the book, and even the name of the author just makes me want to grab it and read it right now. Picture courtesy of Amazon.
20. Elaine boots from Baker’s Shoes. I really, really like them. No, seriously, I like them. Size 10, please. Goodness. I’ll look so hot in them. Don’t you think? Picture courtesy of Baker’s Shoes.
21. Caden peep toe boots from Baker’s Shoes. I have admired these boots from afar, and I have thought to myself, “Why would I need peep toe boots?” But recently, I saw a pair of peep toe boots that I just couldn’t stop looking at. Hence, my new love for the peep toe booties. Picture courtesy of Baker’s Shoes.
22. Lancome Teint Idole Ultra foundation. I’ve been using this foundation since Lancome jazzed me in 2008. After I bought their ridiculously expensive eye pencil, I took it back and bought this foundation instead. It’s been love ever since. Well, I need a new one. I need it in the Suède 1 (N) color (not to be confused with the Suede On color). In the picture below, I highlighted the color, and by the left, where you’ll select the color, my color is the one with the highlighted (yellow) frame (the last one on the leftest column). Picture courtesy of Macy’s.
23. Nintendo Wii. I don’t remember if I had this on my wish list last year, but I know I’ve been wanting this for quite a while. Well, here’s your chance to do me good 🙂 Picture courtesy of Best Buy.
24. Sony – Xplod 52W x 4 Apple: The CD player in my car is crappy. It’s way too sensitive for my liking, but that’s only the beginning of the problem. It goes off right in the middle of the song, and I think it does it on purpose too, because it always waits till the song gets to my favorite part … and then pffft. It’s off. Picture courtesy of Best Buy.
25. Sony Handycam camcorder: Wouldn’t it be nice, if I could serenade you with videos?? Exactly! So this is where and how this camcorder comes into play. Picture courtesy of Best Buy.
26. If you feel like none of these is expensive enough, I’ll gladly welcome the cash you would have spent on a gift.
**** List will continuously be updated till June 30th 2010. On June 30th 2010, the new birthday wish list (for 2011) will start being compiled. Happy buying.

Happy New Year Vera. Very impressive list I must say:
2. I hear the Cliq is quite a phone. Nice choice. Lol @ Blacky.
3. A friend who has the Bold 9700 says it's a sweeeet phone oh. I can also personally attest to the new trackpad (as opposed to trackball) being awesome.
5 & 6. So you've jumped on the e-reader bandwagon ei? The Kindle seems to be a better & savvier bet but there are still aspects of the e-reading business that I'm waiting to change before I even consider whether to take it seriously.
7. In addition to that portable drive you might want add a heavy duty external drive to your wish list as a back up to your back up. Those portables are flimsily made. I talk from experience…lol.
8. You haven't read Things Fall Apart??!! No comments. And I thought I had a lot of catching up to do regarding Nigerian literature…LOL.
The car, boots, sunglasses & bag are HOT!!

Happy New Year Vera! It's a new year, but you are up to your old tricks again, asking for birthday gifts well in advance! I wonder if some things will ever change… lol!
Vera, seriously, you haven't read Things Fall Apart and The Lion and the Jewel? Which secondary school did you go to? If I decide to buy you a gift, those will be what I'll get. I hope you've read Buchi Emecheta's books though, hmm?

Vera Ezimora says
Anonymous: You're darn right! You're the first commenter this decade. How does that feel? LOL. Congrats! And thanks a lot. LOL @ receiving a lot of books. What is that supposed to mean sef??
Elean John: Hahahahaha. LOL @ Eze Goes To School. Okay, I may be behind, but I am not that behind. Very funny!
Just Joxy: Thanks, boo! Happy New Year to you, too.
Anoda Phase: Thank you, love. We have entered "anoda phase" of life, huh?
ChinnyN: Hehehe. Ms. O's list was a bad, bad list! Mine is nice and considerate. I'd really prefer it if you get me the Rav-4.
Myne Whitman: Me, crazy? Mba nu! I never start sef! LOL. Which sunglasses? The first or second one? The first one is ONLY $26.99, and the second one is only $70. In case you were wondering, I like the second one better 🙂
Funmie: If I did not know better, I would have said, awwww. But I know better, so I'll say, "Yeah, right! I hope you've ordered my gift!" LOL
No Limit: I cannot confirm or deny your accusation about my courtesies being links to order my gifts. LOL. Mind yourself ooo! Wetin be your own sef?
Good Naija Girl: LOL! See your mouth. Well, as long as they first send it to me, I don't mind. But they cannot send anything to you without first sending it to me.
Vera Ezimora says
KG: My dear, You're not the only one who has a lot of catching up to do. I'm soooo behind, and it's such a shame! You'd think that someone like has read everything, but I have not. It's appalling. The good thing about the list is that it has grown since the last time you saw it. Nice, huh? LOL. Per the e-reader, I'm off the bandwagon *pout* It turns out I don't particularly care for it. I thought I did. Abeg, I still want to hold books in my hands.
Ms. O: If you try it ehn….! You will feel my wrath. Card from Wal-Mart indeed! Did you see that on my list??? Ehn? See her small mouth like "card from Wal-Mart"
Caramel: Thank God I have hope ooo! Because me, I gorra gorra be loaded with gifts this year. If not, I will shut this blog down. You think I'm kidding?
Azazel: Thanks, boo!!!! Happy New Year to you, too.
Mizchif: That one na your own oh! What is wrong with me longer-throating things, ehn? In short, I'm doing this for you people sef! So you should be thanking me. Yeah, I said it. LOL. Happy New Year.
Favored Girl: Some things will change, of course, but asking for gifts… that one will not change. Hehehe. My dear, I have not read those books, and as for Buchi Emecheta's books, no comments. Do you really want me to answer that question?
Vera Ezimora says
Sassy Trends: LOL! I'm glad that somebody is admitting that her longer throat is longer than mine. That's the way to go! Yay! LOL.
Standtall: Hahahaha. Abi ooo! Thank you jare, my sister. I know you'll always support me. Happy New Year, love.
Lucid Lilith: LOL! This is not a New Year's List oh. This is my birthday list. I don't really care what you call it anyway, as long as you send me a gift. You can call it a January list for all I care. Just make sure you buy me something. Tehehe.
Anonymous: You're absolutely right. And I apologize. I did not mean to neglect the comments or not reply them, but you know how life is. Only 24 hours in one day. I apologize. That said, you didn't have to leave this comment as an anonymous commenter (that is, if you're really a blogger, as you implied in your comment). But thank you.
EDJ says
I can get you #9 and #10. I believe I still have them left over from studying for the WAEC English Literature exam. I can't believe you would include that as fun reading material when I had to read them as textbooks for an exam! Lol!
EDJ says
I can also get you "The Beautiful Ones Are Not Yet Born", "Anthills of the Savannah" and "Lord of The Flies". I am not even sure which member of my family decided these books were important enough to bring with us to the US (ehem…my dad) but we have them gathering dust here.
Vera Ezimora says
EDJ: LOL @ me wanting to read the books you used as textbooks. You know what they say about one man's meat being another man's poison. Na so life be. Tehehe. Unfortunately, other people have gone ahead to send numbers 9 and 10. However, I'd love to read The Beautiful Ones Are Not Yet Born, Anthills of the Savannah, and Lord of the Files. [You can thank your member of the family *coughs* Dad for me]. Alternatively, of course, since numbers 9 and 10 have already been sent by other people, you can just send their equivalents: numbers one and two. Tehehehehe.
