Today, a group of passionate Nigerians walked the streets of Nigeria to protest against the government’s recent removal of the fuel subsidy. One person died in Ilorin, Kwara State. People marched around with placards demanding that the government reverse the removal of fuel subsidy.
There have been many protests in Nigeria, but there’s something about this one that is different – to me anyway. There are people like Prince Olu who tweeted today, “My name is Prince Olu … If they shoot me on Friday, pls do not stop protesting.” There are more people like Prince Olu out there, and one person is dead already. Is this the beginning of the end of Nigeria as we know it? Take a look at today’s pictures – courtesy of Leke.
Tell me, what do you see in these pictures?

“In a country of 160 million people, there is no way you can reach a consensus on any issue but it is incumbent on leadership and it is imperative on leadership that decision must be taken for the interest of the country and I believe that the President genuinely have the interest of the country at heart. On the sincerity of government, “How can a president duly elected with the overwhelming majority will decide that he will save N1.3 trillion and he will embezzle it? What will he do with that kind of money? If he is not sincere, we will not do it.” “For everything that you get benefit, there must be some pains. The children that will celebrate, the women go through labour. The collective decision that we have taken today should guarantee a better future for the country. God Bless Nigeria!!!

Modestus …. so you’re saying the president and his cabinet will not squander this money? We’re talking about the president that eats one billion dollar worth of food per day? Come on now!
