There is a Nigerian movie that is sweeping the Cyberspace. In other words, people are tweeting and facebooking about it. It’s called Fazebook Babes. The movie is starring Mercy Johnson, Oge Okoye, and some other people. If you’re looking at the title and remembering a certain time you watched or heard of other impressive titles like Obama Babes, Blackberry Babes, and Lady Gaga, then you’re not alone.
That said, if you have not watched Fazebook Babes, then you should. I did not go past twenty minutes, but hey, you should give it a shot. If not for anything, you should watch it for the first ten minutes. Oge Okoye plays the part of Juanita. I think she has another name, but I don’t remember now. Anyway, in the first ten minutes of the movie, Juanita shows affection for her pet, a parrot named Linda. She holds Linda in her hand, asks her how she’s doing, kisses her … you know, the works. And it’s evident that she loves this pet.
There’s only one problem: Linda the parrot is a ceramic parrot. No, Juanita (Oge Okoye) isn’t playing the part of someone with dementia or schizophrenia. Nope, far from it. But I cannot say the same for the makers of this movie. You see, the ceramic parrot is — how do I put this? Well, basically, we, the watchers of the movie are not supposed to notice that Linda the parrot is actually ceramic. Because, I mean, who would notice that Linda the parrot is stationary, no matter which way you hold her.
I only watched it for about twenty minutes. I couldn’t take it longer than that. But maybe you’ll have better luck. Watch Fazebook Babes Part 1 here and watch Fazebook Babes Part 2 here.
P.S. That said, Oge Okoye needs to stop playing roles like this one. Every time I see her in a movie, I feel like I have seen the movie before. She plays the same roles, acts the same way, talks the same way, has the same kind of clothes and make-up *yawn* Either she’s playing the same character over and over again, or she’s playing Oge Okoye in all her roles. I think it’s the latter.
Err, enjoy the film though. Greeeaaaaaaat stuff.

Vera Ezimora says
Yes, they did oh! Don’t ask me what they were thinking.
femmelounge says
toh! i was also wondering why linda isn’t a real parrot. they didn’t have to show us she has a pet, so why fake it? i still don’t get it.
Vera Ezimora says
I know! I was thinking the same thing too. Although I didn’t finish the movie, I don’t think Linda was a vital part of this movie. How can she be anyway? She’s ceramic. But yeah, there was no need to show
herit or even include its story in this movie. Oh, well.Dalu says
