This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Missouri Division of Tourism. All opinions are 100% mine.
One thing I have learned – now, more than ever before – is that discovering new places never stops being awe-inspiring. The United States alone has 50 States, most of which I have never been to, and I know that when people speak about travelling within the United States, places like Florida, New York, Washington D.C. and California come to mind. But what about the show-me State of Missouri?
Missouri is one of those States that most of us only think of when talks about the civil war or hunting come up, but there is actually a lot more to Missouri than that. I mean, they don’t call it the show-me State for nothing. For example, Missouri has 51 State Parks, 9 zipline locations, and more than 100 wineries. And if you enjoy scuba diving – something I have never done, but would absolutely love to try – Missouri also hosts Bonne Terre Mine, the world’s largest fresh water dive resort.
Below I have created an imaginary itinerary of a four day and three night visit to Missouri. I would take my friends and family, the same ones I travelled with only a little while ago. We – eight of us – would travel from Thursday to Sunday and spend Thursday and Friday nights in St. Louis, and Saturday and Sunday in Kansas City.
On Thursday: We would stay at the Chase Park Plaza Hotel – oh, so beautiful! After settling in, we would visit The Edible Difference for all kinds of pastries. Then, we would end the day by visiting the Gateway Arch, the nation’s tallest monument, standing at 630 feet. And you can take rides up there? Wow. Funmie would be terrified of the height, but hopefully, we’ll convince her to come.
On Friday: We would start our day bright and early, so we can do as much as possible. First, we will go on a sight-seeing cruise on Riverboat Cruises. Then we will visit the St. Louis Zoo. I have spent most of my life in America, and I am still yet to visit an American zoo. After the trip to the zoo, we will visit the Muny St. Louis outdoor musical theater. And to round up our day, we will have dinner at Three Sixty Rooftop Bar. It sits 400 feet above Downtown St. Louis. I can only imagine the view from up there.
On Saturday: Considering the activities of Friday, I anticipate that we would wake up late today. And by the time we’re done packing – especially the girls – breakfast time would be over. So we’ll start with brunch at Dressel’s Public House. When we’re done eating, we will begin our four hour drive to Kansas City. By the time we get to Kansas City, we’ll probably be tired and famished. We will stay at the Raphael Hotel. It is so beautiful. We will visit The Well Bar Grill & Rooftop for their made-to-order pasta and fresh fish, flown in daily. Then we will all go back to the hotel and unwind in the spa room. Nothing will do our bodies justice like a massage.
On Sunday: We will start our day by having breakfast at the hotel. Then we will visit the Loose Park. This Park used to be a battleground during the civil war. Considering the reason for the war, standing on this ground will be an honor to say the least.
Reluctantly, we will go back home, pack our bags, and return to Maryland, wondering why it had to end.
Check out this short thirty-second clip about the great State of Missouri, and if you don’t feel like dropping what you’re doing and going there immediately, then watch it again.

And maybe the Missouri Department of Tourism will sponsor your itinerary…wouldn’t that be awesome?
Vera Ezimora says
GNG, I love the way you think. If the Missouri Department of Tourism sponsors my itinerary, I think I would go bananas. OMG!!!!!!!!!!
Good Naija Girl says
Wow…you can’t even say you’ll take me along if they offer to pay! Na wa for you. I’m going to lobby the MO government for my own all-expenses paid trip! 😉
Have a good weekend!
Vera Ezimora says
Loool.
GNG, it’s not what it looks like. I can explain! See, I was too excited at the thought of a sponsored trip to Missouri that I completely forgot to invite you. Consider yourself invited. Tehehe.

Hmm I’ve been to Missouri. Been to St Louis and the lesser known boondocks region of Hollister, Missouri. St Louis struck me as okay. It is definitely not Chicago, but then every midwest city is different. Hollister is very pretty, with a great views and lots of fun for those who like camping and outdoorsy stuff.
Neither are places I would want to live in or visit again. Give me the Northeast any day! 😛
Yes I’m being a hater. Team NY (and sometimes Chicago) all the way.

Lol. It’s okay to have your preferences. I’ve never been there at all, so I’ll definitely love to visit. I want my own experience.
