Welcome to February.
Last year, I did as I always do at the end of the year: I sat down and thought about my life and Verastic. I wrote down a long to-do list for Verastic that I hope to accomplish before 2015 is over. Some of the things are quite easy, like changing my profile picture on my about page (done), while some other things are more intricate and complicated, and will take a lot more time, creativity, and patience. But I’m happy that I’m working on them.
One thing I’m also doing differently this year is actually going back every now and then to check my list. I’m scratching off the things that I’ve done and I’m even adding things as I go along. In the past, I’ve written a list and forgotten to go back and check it.
I don’t like to talk about the things I want to do before I do them. I’d rather do them and then tell you. It is said that sharing your plans with people makes you more accountable, and I suppose that may be true, but these plans in my head are too big, so I’d rather do more doing and less talking. Besides, there are dream thieves everywhere. [Insert straight face].
One of the things I decided to add to the blog is a monthly journal entry. And today is my very first one. I don’t know how long I will do this journal for, and I don’t know whether or not I will even like it. But I won’t know until I try. So I’m trying.
I don’t know what your dreams are, but if you are like me, you may be trying what you think is your best while waiting for an angel to come and do the rest. But are you really doing your best? The real question here is, am I really doing my best? Maybe I am. Maybe I’m not. But in this month of February, I will strive to work even harder to cross things off my 2015 to-do list. I want to be convinced that I have done my absolute best and right now, I am not convinced.
Another thing I’m working on is being more personal here. Yes, I know that personal blogs may not be all the rage right now, but that’s my taste and interest and I don’t want to pretend to be something I’m not. I like the personal stuff, and I’ll try to do more of it (which really is kind of funny because bloggers seem to generally be moving away from the personal stuff, but I’ll be attacking it head on!)
The older I become, the more I realize just how much I don’t know about myself and about life. I’m still learning. I’m still a huge work in progress. I don’t even have a favorite lip stick yet. I cannot speak for others, but for me, the business of blogging has been brutal some times. I’m not talking about the part of growing numbers or SEO or revenue, but the part of branding: what does Verastic stand for? What do I bring to the table, and how can I use it to get from here to there?
Surprisingly (or not surprisingly), this post is longer than I originally planned, but I have enjoyed every bit of it. I hope to be back in the beginning or March to talk about February.
Meanwhile, thank you for reading, and please take a moment to share this post through one (or all) of the media channels below. I love you for reading.

Welcome to February. I prayed fervently yesterday, committing the rest of the 26 days left in the month onto God and asking Him to take control of it. Then I set out to do what I want to do. It’s an idea a friend shared with me recently. I feel so light after I did it. May we accomplish all our goals this month. And oh, my favorite lipstick -I have a couple : Sin (a matte) and Cyber by Mac.

A.Mozi, thanks a lot for reading this and leaving a comment! I pray that all of your plans come to fruition. Per the lipstick, I technically really only started being into lipstick a little while ago. But I’ll check out the ones you mentioned. Must have lipstick! Lol.

I agree. Personal blogs are going the way of fashion or beauty, because that’s what the reading audience seems to gravitate towards.

Go Vera! I love that you want to get more personal though most people prefer to read recycled gossip. This space here is where you share your own opinions, experience and life. It is different. I love it. I also love the idea of journaling and going back to see your progress and missteps, that is a sure way to success. Self awareness is key.
I just gave you 3 loves

Yayy!! for Journal’s and To-Do lists!! I’m an addict to both. I have a daily journal i use to go back in time and it has even helped me find stuffs i hid from myself and also helps me plan the next day/week/month,etc. beta. As for to-do lists, hmmm my sister, i can’t explain the joy i get from ticking things off my list, loool, i eve add easy things to it just to have that ‘tick-off’ moment but it does really help one stay focused, plan and reflect as well.
As for the direction of ur blog, we are your loyal sweet poraroes no mata wat!! I’m glad u’r sticking to the personal path though, its fun!! and you do give great relationship advice through your posts intentionally or nah that’s asides ur personal experiences you share. We luff u Veraaaaa
