I am not a trendy person at all. If you see me wearing something that is trendy, it is mere coincidence. I do not care to find out what “they” have decided is the thing that every girl needs. I just stick to my own personal style. Everyone has style; some styles are just nicer than others.
I remember some years ago, I owned a pair of white sling back shoes, and I loved them! I bought them on sale, too. They were easy on my feet, three inches tall. I wore the heck out of them. Someone asked me, “Who wears white shoes?” And I said, “I do.” Apparently white shoes were forbidden in the world of the fashion-conscious. But how was I supposed to know? I’m never trendy.
Like flocks of sheep, all the fashion people just followed along and said no to white shoes. I no longer have my white shoes because I eventually wore them out, and I haven’t seen a pair that I like since then. Now, fast-forward to 2013, and guess what? White shoes are in. Someone is sitting somewhere and sending out e-mail blasts to all the stylists, telling them that white is hot again. The stylists send the message to their celebrities, and the fashion bloggers pick the trend from the celebrities. Then we – the non-fashion bloggers – do as the bloggers say we should do.
Well, I ain’t falling for it. I’m going to where what I want, when I want, and how I want.
P.S. In general, white shoes are just not stylish (according to them), and after September and before May, you shouldn’t wear white at all (also according to them). Yeah, right.
So … what inspires your style?

I am the least stylish person you might ever meet. I have one white slingback, kitten heel. It was also recently I began to hear about no post or pre labor day white. Hmmf!

Lool. Well, I heard about the no white after labor day thing since, but I have never, ever followed it. All these rules are a bunch of bullocks.

Personally I’m not a fan of white shoes because of the dirt issue or getting them scuffed badly. Its fun to read fashion blogs but to follow them blindly is actually defeating the purpose of “fashion”. You are supposed to be able to express YOURSELF through clothing not copy everyone else.
Vera Ezimora says
That’s the problem. People sometimes don’t express themselves. They express the people they are reading.
