It’s like every other day, a new “victim” appears from somewhere, accusing Bill Cosby of a rape that happened a few decades ago. At first, I thought these allegations were ridiculous. Now, I still think they’re ridiculous, but I don’t know if I think they’re ridiculous because he could not have done them, or ridiculous because how dare he do them? Some people have made up their minds that if there are 13, 14, 15, 16 or whatever number of women accusing you of rape, then it must be true. Others believe that having that many women does not change a thing. I agree and disagree with both people.
Even if I knew Bill Cosby personally, I would not vouch for him and say that I know that I know that I know that Bill Cosby will not do such a thing. Why? Because I am not God, so how can I know? I don’t know what people can and cannot do. But I don’t know him personally, so I especially cannot make this statement, neither can I join in and say that he did not do it. However, I do have some questions and comments, and these questions and comments will hurt and help both sides of the argument.
1. Why did it take so long for these women to come out? Yes, I am aware of the argument – who would have believed me? – but considering the number of women, are you telling me that not one single woman was brave enough to take it there?
2. These accusations started making headlines [again] when comedian Hannibal Buress told his audience to Google “Bill Cosby rapist.” My question is: what if he hadn’t said so? Would this have happened? Would these women still be hiding?
3. There is no smoke without fire. Even if Bill did not rape all these women, did he rape some? Did he rape at least one? [And that would still be one too many].
4. Can this be unrequited love/affection gone wrong?
5. Most of the accusers seem to imply that they were drunk/drugged when they got raped, what about the ones that were neither drugged nor drunk?
6. What does it mean when they say that Bill “forced” them?
7. Why is Bill Cosby not commenting on these allegations?
8. People have compared Bill Cosby’s case to Michael Jackson being accused of being a pedophile [although Bill Cosby was never arrested/tried in court and the statute of limitation has expired in all the rape cases. Also, Michael Jackson was acquitted due to lack of evidence]. But can the cases be compared? Side note: Not that it makes a difference, but I still don’t think that Michael Jackson did it. Sue me, if you want].
9. If Bill Cosby is the serial rapist that they say he is, then why are all these accusations from decades ago? Has he not raped recently? Will these women show up sometime in the future?
10. Does race play any factor at all in this?
11. Why are media networks cancelling and suspending their ties/projects with an accused man? Has he already been tried and convicted? And whatever happened to being innocent until proven guilty?
12. Has there been ANY kind of proof that Bill Cosby did the things they say he did?
13. If Bill Cosby did not rape these women, then what did he do?
14. Considering that the statute of limitation is over on these rape cases, what do these women stand to gain?
15. Why would several women come out and accuse one man of rape, if he did not actually do it?
16. But even if 1,000 women say it, does it make it true?
17. CNN’s Don Lemon was slammed for asking Joan Tarshis, one of Bill’s accusers during an interview why she did not bite Bill’s penis [as a way to defend herself] when he forced her to perform oral sex on him. My thought: but unless you’re just trying to be politically correct, isn’t that a valid question?
I have politically incorrect views about rape/sexual assault, violence, relationships, love, marriage, and a lot more things, but this is not the post to spew them in. Even after typing out all these questions, I still don’t have an answer to whether or not Bill Cosby is guilty. But it’s rather unfortunate how the media (like NBC, TV Land, Netflix) has reacted to his accusations. He’s being punished for a crime that has not been proven.
Although not the same, it reminds me of the way Paula Deen was treated when she admitted to using the N-word. Everyone cut ties with her. Her case particularly saddens me because I was one of the people who supported the media cutting ties with her. I thought she got what she deserved. But what I did not know then was that she admitted to using the word a long time ago. I did not take into account that this was a Southern woman who grew up during a time that this was normal. No, it was not right, but it was normal. She was a product of her environment. I regret that I supported her downfall. I truly regret it.
So in the case of Bill Cosby, I will not direct him to the hottest part of hell, nor will I suggest that God punishes him. Whether or not he did it, this is truly a sad and unfortunate story. I only pray that all parties involved find peace and the fortitude to go through this trying time.
P.S. If I was being accused of something outlandish, I would hope that you people will defend me before you condemn me.

Vera please separate Bill Cosby the human being who is prone to erring from his fictional character Dr.Huxtable from the Cosby show who could do no wrong, I am sensing that is clouding your thoughts. Anyway these allegations have always been there some were settled out of court by his lawyers read up on them Google na your padi. It’s too bad there was no social media back then and the internet wasn’t as big back then as it is now that is why they weren’t as publicized as these ones have been. Please look for some rape victims who were raped as teens as most of these women were and only came out as adults many decades later and ask them the reasons for their silence therein lays your answers as to why these women are only just coming out now. Do you know the level of respect almost God like devotion Bill Cosby commanded at the height of his stardom all those years ago? Now trying coming up against America’s most loved Dad no one would have believed them back then. Women today have a much louder voice than they did 30plus years ago no one would have believed a 19 year old who went willingly to this “god like” man’s room accusing him of rape back then. There are very many distinguished well respected church going charity donations giving gentlemen walking around today that have Bill Cosby like skeletons in their closets that their victims are afraid to expose because who would believe poor little them over this man that has done so much for the society. One of his victims who also recently came out with photos of him in the hotel room on the night of the alleged rape actually alluded to this rape in a book she wrote almost two decades ago but the publishers could not name him for fear of a defamation lawsuit remember it was a case of he says she says. All these women cannot be lying they have nothing to gain from it they just want to right wrongs that were done to them years ago. The saying “nothing stays hidden under the sun” was clearly meant for situations like this and the “evil that men do lives with them forever”. Someone a much older person who was an adult at the height of earlier allegations said on another site that Bill has a pattern of lying low every time such allegations come up against him and then resurfacing when he thinks the dust has gone down looks like this dust has refused to settle. And if he was innocent why not come out and condemn these women and sue them for defamation of character his silence in this case is not golden but very loud? Plus his modus operandi for these alleged rapes is eeringly similar just like how a serial killer operates. Once again all these women cannot be lying.

Totally agree with Pendo. I cannot categorically say Bill Cosby is guilty of rape because I’m not a court of law. However, I tend to go with the women on this. More than 20 unconnected women telling almost the same story cannot ALL be lying. Like you noted, they have nothing to gain as the statute of limitations has passed. You have to know they didn’t start talking today. 13 of them were willing to talk 10 years ago, but Bill Cosby PAID one of them and closed the door on the others coming forward. One still continued talking and has been vocal since then, Barbara Bowman.
You ask why he’s not raping anymore. Remember, he’s not as good looking or young as he used to be, and his star power is not what it was in his hey days. Those were the tools of his alleged rapes, luring women with his good looks, charm and star power. All have faded. He last raped 10 years ago, and then his star was already on the down, and the woman took him to court and won millions. So I think he learnt his lesson. Also, I’m guessing his wife and lawyers had some choice words for him them.
What can I categorically say? I think Bill Cosby is a womanizer and a man of his times when women were no so demanding of their self respect and body dignity. In his mind, he did not rape those women, he had sex with them. And I can say that some of those women also did not consider it rape at THE time. Some probably they felt the drug aspect was too weird and kinky. Some left beacuse that’s not what they bargained for. Others went on to have basically ARISTO relationships with him. Times have changed now however. Rape and sexual assault are now big deals in American gender issues and real life politics, and the voice of women is more equal.
Bill Cosby can sue these women for defamation if they are lying but he’s not, why? They’re probably telling the truth. But is it rape or just sex? That answer is in the ears of the listener. 40 years ago, it was a big man liking his little women drugged for sex. Today, it is a serial abuser/rapist.

Just for the record Michael Jackson was always INNOCENT. He never hurt any child and I am tired of people still trying to slander his name and reputation.
