Sweet Potatoes, I Am African is here.
I hope I make you proud with this one. In 2009, I started The Verastic Show, a live online talk radio show. It was my first time hosting a talk show, and I LOVED it. I was scared on the first day because you know, it was a live radio show, and what if no one tuned in? But I did it anyway, and it was great! Not only did people tune in, but they also called in, too. I did that show for years until I had to unexpectedly retire it. I had the privilege of speaking to so many beautiful human beings through and because of that show. Since the show’s retirement, I have thought about how to revive it because it was such a happy place for me.
And that’s how I started thinking about starting a podcast. The problems were that (1) I take too long thinking of executing something, and (2) Life threw me some curves along the way that further put my dream of a podcast on hold, and (3) I now knew even more what failure felt like, and I was afraid of it.
Anyway, here we are. I’m still afraid, but I’m doing it anyway. Last week Monday, I told you I had some exciting news, and this is the exciting news. The Sweet Potatoes who are subscribed already know of this podcast, and they have listened and sent their support. THANK YOU.
The podcast is called I Am African (by Verastic), and without further ado, here’s the introductory episode. You probably have questions, like what is the podcast about? And what inspired the name – I Am African? Well, answers are in the introductory episode. New episodes will drop every Monday. I have also created brand new social media profiles for the show on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook.
Currently, it’s available online and on Spotify, Sticher, Google Play Music (not Google Podcast), and Tunein. I’m waiting for approvals for it to be on Apple Podcast, Google Play, and iHeartRadio. I will continuously update as the approvals come.
Meanwhile, tell me what you think about the introductory episode.
P.S. If you’re not part of the Sweet Potatoes on the inside, inside who always know what’s going on first, then please, join us. We await your grand entrance.
