When I did Show Me Your Love for the first time last year, I was not sure how people would respond to it. Would anyone even send me pictures of them and their love? Do people still love to show their love to the world? Apparently, they do. If I weren’t so semi-anonymous, I would participate, too. That, and the fact that Show Me Your Love is supposed to be about you – the Verastic readers – not about me, Miss Verastic.
And now, it’s that time of the year again. Show Me Your Love 2011. Love is such a beautiful thing, I tell you. Romantic love is a very, very beautiful thing. I don’t care how many bad stories we hear of it. When it works out, it’s a beautiful thing. When I’m not alone on Valentine’s Day and standing solo on the ice cream line while everyone else is swapping spit, I tend to generally admire couples that are in love. I love subtle public displays of affection. Those, to me, tell a lot. Sure, you may tongue each other down and grope each other’s asses publicly, but those, to me, are just signs of agro (horniness).
The people that are truly in love don’t tend to overdo it, I think. I had so much fun getting to know the couples from Show Me Your Love 2010 – some of whom I already knew before Show Me Your Love. I even got to attend the wedding of one of the couples. We had never met before I attended her wedding, and she did not know what I looked like either – I think. She might have seen my picture, but we had never met. It turned out that her husband is a relative to our blogger brother, Dante, and he saw the pictures of the wedding on my blog. Small world!
Once again, I’m looking forward to getting to know a new set of couples, and if God gives me the grace, I’ll attend someone’s wedding (or other event) again. Perhaps, this time, it will be in Nigeria. Never underestimate the power of written (and spoken) words. In my sweetest possible voice, I am begging, asking, pleading that you send in those [high definition] pictures of you and yours. Let’s celebrate Valentine again. And let me, in my own way, live that day vicariously through you.
For those that are new to this, all the pictures of the participating couples (and a little bio) will be up live on Valentine’s Day, Monday, February 14th 2011.
To participate, just send in a hi-def picture of you and yours to projects [at] verastic dot com. Deadline for submission is Monday, February 7th 2011.
You can check out Show Me Your Love 2010 to give you an idea of what it’s going to be like. Otherwise, enjoy the promo video below. It was done by yours truly. I tried to get Stephen Spielberg to direct it, but he was a little busy. Next year, perhaps.
P.S. Totally unrelated to this post, but if you have me on your blog roll, please take me off and add me again. You’d notice that according to your blog roll, this blog has not been updated since Thursday, December 17th 2010. Clearly, that’s not the case. Now, enjoy the video.

Some guy trying to spoil market for “American” women. What do you think?
I checked out the website. There’s actually a blog dedicated to boycot American women? LOL. Clearly, I’m not an American woman, but just like any other country, there are always bad/good eggs, yes? There are Nigerian men who feel the same way about Nigerian women. The only difference is that this group – however big or small – has a blog.
How body sha …? 🙂
Missing you..you refuse to reply my last message. What’s good this weekend?
Uh oh. What last message? I’m really sorry 🙁
