Although I am not a politics person at all, I have been following – best as I can – the events of this election season, just like I did four years ago when I was fired up for Obama. I still am. Some days ago, it was the Republican National Convention where Mitt Romney officially accepted his nomination to be the republican nominee. And yesterday, President Barack Obama accepted his.
I rushed home from my Zumba class because I could not afford to miss a thing from the speech; I was in such a hurry that I mistakenly parked on the handicapped zone. If Igwe had not come home and noticed it, I would have earned myself a whopping $1000 fine by this morning. Whew!
Watching the interaction between the President and his wife, the President and his daughters, and just the general demeanor of the President had me in awe. It is really true what they say, uneasy lies the head that wears the crown. While we sleep at night and wake up in the morning to bicker about what the government hasn’t done for us, there is a man somewhere who is just a man, not God. He has to make a decision, and he has no room for error, as there are 500 million people that will be affected by whatever decision he makes. I don’t want that kind of responsibility on my head. I don’t even want to be responsible for anyone’s plant.
He gave an outstanding speech yesterday, not that less was expected. Here is the entire speech. See if like me, you feel a pang of anger toward so-called President Gooluck Ebele Jonathan and his wife, Dame Patience. Every time I watch American politics, I get mad all over at Nigerian politics. Sorry. Can’t help it.
Meanwhile, when I saw Michelle Obama and Barack Obama kiss last night, I could not help but put up a tweet. Everyone responded and retweeted by saying something to the effect of, “Eww. That’s disgusting.” I wonder why 😀
I wonder if anyone will say “Aww” when they see Jonathan and Dame Patience kissing. Tufia kwa.

Lol at more like Igwe. Biko don’t say that here. You’re gonna make him tear his face with a smile. I guess there are people who are born to lead, or born to want to lead. I wanna lead, but not a country. I wanna lead my company, my family, etc. Country??? Heck no.
