It’s Vera vs The Superbowl

Better known as Eli Manning vs Tom Brady

After spending over a decade in the land that flows with milk and honey, I have finally decided to watch my first superbowl. I still don’t really understand the game. I don’t know what it means for someone to be a quarterback or whatever other positions they may have in football.

I think I know what it means to have a touchdown, although I don’t quite understand the point system yet.  What’s more important is that come 6 PM (or is it 6:30 PM) this evening, my butt cheeks will be planted securely in front of the television, and I will be watching two very important teams go head to head – literally. And as tradition demands, I will have wings, pizza, and tortilla chips and salsa dip. And some Fanta, too. I’m looking most forward to the tortilla chips and salsa dip. And Fanta to help it digest, of course. Oh, and I’m also looking forward to the commercials and performances. Especially the commercials.

By the end of the game, I’m pretty sure I’ll know who the winner is. There’ll be enough people around me to explain it to me. Stay tuned to my tweets!

P.S. Since my home team, Baltimore Ravens is not in the game, I am inclined to pick the New York Giants as the team I am rooting for. And there are two reasons for this decision:

1.  New York is geographically closer to me than New England where the Patriots are from.

2. The Patriots beat the Ravens out of the superbowl. Yes, I’m still sore from the loss, though I acknowledge that we had many chances to win. Still, I reserve my rights to be sore.

On second thoughts, it’s not the Patriots’ fault that they won us. So, yeah, Go Patriots too! Whatever. I just want some tortilla chips and salsa dip.
