There isn’t much to say. Whitney Houston has left us and passed on to where all living spirits of dead bodies go to. I don’t know where that is. Reports say that she was found in her water-filled tub, face down. Her guards pulled her body out of the water and tried to resuscitate her, but to no avail.
Prescription drugs were found in her room which suggests that she may have been in deep sleep when she slid in the tub. This is just a speculation, not an official cause of death. An autopsy should be in the progress today.
Meanwhile, the 54th annual Grammy Award is tonight at 8pm EST. Time. As of yesterday, there was an ongoing debate among fans of Whitney Houston (via various social media networks) about whether or not the Grammys should pay a tribute to Whitney Houston. As of yesterday, organizers of music’s biggest night had contacted Jennifer Hudson and Chaka Khan for a tribute to Whitney Houston. I do not know what the current situation of things is.
When Whitney was with Bobby, their union seemed like an epic fail in the eyes of everyone. Bobby was blamed for Whitney’s drug abuse and reckless life. They finally divorced in 2007. Speaking of Bobby Brown, he was about to go on stage with his band, New Edition when he heard of Whitney’s death. He broke down backstage and did not perform in the first song, but he showed up for the second song where he looked and pointed up to the sky and said, “I love you, Whitney.”
Just today, Whitney’s only daughter, Bobbi Kristina, 18 was today rushed to the hospital. She was treated for anxiety at the scene. She is expected to be okay.
For a brief moment, we are reminded once again that tomorrow is not guaranteed, and that everyday is solely by His grace. Maybe we’ll spend the day thinking about how favored we are to be alive today, and then tomorrow, we’ll go back to living as it is by our own doing. She was only 48. I can’t believe we now use was for her. May your soul rest in the gentle arms of the Lord, Whitney.
And here’s the song that made a lot of us know her.
