Has anyone ever eaten “confused rice”? Before you get as confused as the rice, lemme explain what the confused rice is.
I was hungry this afternoon and decided to cook some rice. I was gonna cook some fried rice, but I didn’t have vegetables. I couldn’t cook some stew because I didn’t have tomato, and I didn’t feel like cooking red (jollof) rice either. So what did I do? I decided to experiment.
I had two sets of meat. Fried and cooked. The cooked one was mixed with some pepper. The rice was initially fried, then I added some red pepper and some spice. And I chopped the fried meat into pieces too and put it in the rice. Bottom line, I cooked some rice – it was a little bit red and a little bit fried. But it was totally – ugh, wat’s the word? Let’s Verastic.
So anyways, the rice tastes great! Since it doesn’t fit into any category, I’ll call it the confused (Verastic) rice. It’s like a half cast rice. It’s got a little bit of everything. But after cooking, I didn’t feel like eating it anymore – does that happen to you? I’m just gonna eat a mango after posting this and call it a night.
So you want some of my rice?
The Prestige – see preview HEREYesterday, I went to the movie theatre with Funmi, Uju, Ibukun, and ‘S’. First we had dinner @ AppleBees and I was sooooo flippin mad. The food sucked! Then we went to the movie theatre to see The Prestige. ‘S’ fell asleep (and even started snoring sef) about five minutes after the movie started. Funmie later fell asleep too. The movie was two hours and 15 minutes long. Uju and I thought it was a great movie. It has unexpected twists and turns, which is always a good thing, you know.
Anyways, personally, I loved the movie. I think it was a pretty good movie, but Funmi and her dumb self only likes simple movies. Movies that have to do with romance, drama… everyday simple stuff.
Hugh JackmanAnother thing I loved about the movie is the fact that my boo, Wolverine from X-Men (Hugh Jackman) is in it. Gosh, he is soooooooo flippin sexxxy!!! I’m always findin some1 sexy, huh? I can’t help it jare. God has just made soooo many sexy people. The world is a sexxxy world!
Hugh has a new movie coming up called The Fountain (see preview HERE). The man is just too sexy jare.
Movies I’d Like 2 See
Happy Feet (watch preview HERE) – Is there anything wrong with me wanting to watch Happy Feet? It’s an animated movie about dancing penguins. It comes to theatres on the 17th of November. Why on earth wouldn’t I wanna see it??? Did I mention that Hugh Jackman is one of the voices? Yay!!! Ooooh, can’t wait!
The Nativity Story (watch preview HERE) – this is a movie about the birth of Jesus Christ, and it comes to theatres on December 1st
Apocalypto (watch preview HERE) – This is a movie directed by the one and only Mel Gibson. If history repeats itself, this movie would be great!… just like The Passion of Christ. He’s a great director, and I am confident that he would do a good job once again. This movie hits theatres on December 8th
Deja Vu (watch preview HERE) – the name of the movie obviously gives the theme away. It’s starring another sexy man, Denzel Washington. It comes to theatres on the 22nd of November.
Please post by DHL thanks.
lol, I have cooked up somethin similar in the past n after eating it once, I was done with it. I have seen the Prestige n yes I loved it n I am Hugh Jackman fan too, lol.
confused rice = verastic rice! na only your own, Vera!! All of you that are asking her to dhl the rice to you, I no dey for that one o!! lol Just kidding girl. Keep on perfecting those culinary skills, yeah?
my sister has been making so much noise about ‘the prestige’; I want to see it now to know if it’ll live up to all the hype. The others you mentioned sound really interesting, esp nativity and deja vu. Give me Denzel any day, anytime!!
Calabar Gal: Oh yeah, that’s a nice movie too. My friend, Ibukun loves James Bond too. Don’t worry, I’ll send you some rice.
TaureanMinx: Don’t leave your house today, so you can be there to sign and collect your rice. You’re gonna love it.
Biodun: Thank you oh, my sister. Funmi said the movie sucked. Don’t mind that simple-minded gal. And Hugh Jackman… mm mm mm. He makes my mouth water. In fact, I’m gonna go watch X-Men (I) right now, so I can see his handsome face.
Beautifully Human: Do I detect jealousy in your words? You’re jealous cause you didn’t cook some beautifully human rice, right? Although, I have to say that the prospect of rice being BEAUTIFULLY HUMAN is rather scary, but hey, whatever floats your boat. LOL. But you shuld definitely go see The Prestige though. Nice movie!
I’ve done a lot of unothordox cooking too — talk about boiling an egg in a microwave until it explodes, frying meat in a microwave, eating boiled rice with just pepper.
Hunger makes me do everything?
What? You left the rice for a mango after going through all that trouble.
That always happens to me. After cooking, and tasting (u know how we ladies do it, nau), when the food’s all ready, i’ve no desire whatsoever to eat it. By the next day, i then demolish the food provided i don’t have wolves at home that’d finish it before then. Me, i don’t want to taste rice like that, that’s as confused as u. Vera u’re something else. Half-caste rice? U don finish highlighting ya bible?
lmao@this ur rice… i’m not interested vera.. i never ready to get food poisoning thru this ur verastic fried jollof rice!!! Hugh Jackman is sexy… but Robin Thicke is sexier.. that scarlett johansoon chick.. the verdict is still out on her.. she’s gorgeous but i started watching the black dahlia and i got bored so i went and saw crank(don’t know what this says about her screen presence)…hmm in that hugh jackman picture.. he bears a slight resemblance to keith urban.. i never watched passion of the christ but i really liked the preview of apocalypto… i wanna watch stranger than fiction and austin powers lol
I hope you saved some for me oh.
I have made my owm confused rice too, a couple of times BUT I am sure yours is the best.
That ‘Prestige’ movie looks – LONG! I might see it sha cos you recommended it… and if it’s nonsense, YOU ARE IN TROUBLE!!!
Azuka: Yes, oh, I left the rice for the mango. It always happens. You spend all this time cooking and smelling the food, and by the time you’re done, you’re suddenly too full 2 eat.
Bijoux: My sister, that’s exactly the case. I have eaten two plates of the rice and now I regret it. To make it worse, I have drank two bottles of water, so now I look pregnant. When I wiggle my body, you’ll think there’s an ocean in my body. Gosh, I feel so heavy! And yes, the rice is half cast.
Overwhelmed: You’re just jealous that you didn’t cook the confused rice. If given the opportunity, you’ll eat the whole pot. And yea girl, I feel you on that rubbish britico thing. Ramsey gets on my lastest nerves! It’s like aaarrrggghhhh!!!!!!!
London Buki: Don’t worry, you’ll love the movie. Well, I hope you’ll love it sha. And yes indeed, it’s a rather long movie. It’s over two hours long. When I went to see it, it started @ 10:25 and I got home past 1am. And my house is about 15 minutes away from the theatre, so go figure. But it’s a nice movie sha.
Half caste rice ke??? Vera!!!
Thanks for the heads up on the movies. I’ll definitely see them all…maybe except Happy Feet 🙂
lol @ confused rice.
I used to create those wen i was in university, and called in concotion rice.but i think urs seems to have more ingredients.
confused rice by a overconfused vera. lets sell the recipe to rachael ray abi se na martha stewardess, or we could make it to oprah. by the time they start dolling out the money, no worry u will be totally convinced that ur confused rice is not so confused afterall. so vera should i start my run arounds in contacting them.
Omoruyi: You won’t see happy feet? You’re missing oh. Well, for me, I can’t wait till it comes out. It comes out on Friday…yay! And yea, the rice was definitely half caste
Angie: Hey girl! Oh mine has more ingredients? Well, Up Vera!!!
Chief: I cannot even believe you’re asking me that question. Of course you should start contacting people in high places. Before you know it, “we” will make money off my half caste rice. See how I said ‘we’ instead of ‘I’? We’re partners, buddy!
hmmm…@Azuka…I’ve done that before…boiled an egg in the microwave…I was at work…i was wondering why the water wasnt boiling u know so i opened the microwave and BOOM…the egg exploded…oh my my my…it’s never happened to me before
Falling asleep at the movies…sounds just like me…especially when it’s boring. For instance I went to see Mona Lisa smile when it came out years ago…I fell asleep…right after that around 1am I hopped to the Lord of the Rings…awake the whole time…
Im feeling you on your concoction….but you know that’s how the best recipes are born…
