Who doesn’t like things customized? I mean, whatever it is will be customized just the way you like it. Whatever can be customized, I will customize it. I’m sure that for some of us, if we could, we’d customize our jobs, our cars, our houses, and even our friends and spouses. Yes, please! Picture this: pick your husband’s hobby (1) Washing dishes, or (2) Doing laundry, (3) Folding/hanging the laundry. I know there are many, many of us who will jump at this customization. But sorry, as far as I know, it’s not possible yet. But while we wait for that technology, we can start by customizing our smartphone, just the way we like it. Ladies and gentlemen, please meet the Moto X phone from Motorola.
The Moto X is Motorola’s fully customizable phone. In other words, you’re free to go bananas with it. It’s extremely easy to do. All you have to do is go to the MotoMaker website and show your personality. You get to pick all kinds of customizations: back color (and you can even make it leather!), front color, trim, memory storage (16 GB or 32 GB), the wallpaper, and more. You can even have it engraved. The first picture above is what the Moto X looked like before I started customizing it. Below are the pictures after customization. As yo can see from the menu on the left side, it’s very easy to do. And you’ll always see a preview of your choice, so it’s not like customizing blindly.
The Moto X has a 5.2 inch display and it’s curved, so it easily fits into the palm of your hand. You can do a lot on this phone with only your voice, making it easier – and not to mention, more fun – to play on your favorite apps like Facebook and Twitter. This phone even knows where you are (like at a meeting, at a movie theater, sleeping, etc), and it adjusts according to your preferences. As a blogger who is constantly on her phone typing this and sharing that, using my voice mostly would be a relief!
You can name your Moto X whatever you want. I think I’d name mine Ikechukwu. Ha! You can also customize the welcome greeting you get when you turn your phone on. Mine is “Good Morning, Vera.” The words, “Good Morning” mean something extra special to me. You’re probably going to attend a lot of holiday parties, and they’re probably going to be dimly lit, but fear not, with the came on Moto X. your pictures will still turn out great. The camera even has a Best Shot feature that will take several pictures before and after you snap the picture, and it’ll choose your best one. And it even knows when you’re at a party, so it’ll organize the pictures for you. You can add music to it and everything.
For all this awesomeness, the Moto X only costs $99 with a two year contract and $499 without a contract. If you know anything about smartphones, then you know that this price is a steal. If you go for the leather back, the phone will cost an additional $25. How’s this for a smartphone?
