I just took a break from Every Woman to update this blog. I am sleepy and grumpy. Sleepy because I did not take a nap this afternoon, and grumpy because this chapter is more difficult than I care for. In some chapters, the words just flow so easily that I do not wanna stop, and in other chapters, I cannot wait to finish. In this cycle (there are five chapters in a cycle as u know), Ebele is gonna be my most interesting character to write about, but currently, I am still on Jazz, so I still have to get thru Moremi. Whew!
The past two weeks have been something else! What does not kill you only makes you stronger. I do not wish to go into details about any of the events that have tumbled my life lately – however painful – but I don’t mind disclosing that I have been suffering from stomach virus for the past week. If you have never had it, then thank God for that. I have been having serious stomach pain & throwing up everything I eat. The annoying thing is that I have not been able to eat well because of the pain, but then I also develop hunger pains because I don’t eat well. However, you know what happens when I eat, right? Yeap. I still get stomach cramps and I throw the food up anyway. But I’m all better now. It’s not completely gone, but I am certainly better.
My friends (Funmi, Busola, & Tim) came by to keep me company yesterday. They’re such darlings. My aunt bought me juice and grapes. Mom cooked me pepper soup and bought me ice cream. Sola brought me some stew. Funmi bought me yogurt, peaches, and croissants, and Tim ate everything (Bless her heart). With all the TLC I have been getting, I’m starting to think that falling sick isn’t such a bad idea! Now all I need is for Robin Thicke to come and whisk me away to some island and sing sweet nothings in my ears. I most certainly wouldn’t mind that.
You know, change is the only constant thing in life. Sometimes we accept certain living situations, thinking it is the best because we are afraid of what we do not know. Sometimes, we think we have the best. But then change happenes. Sometimes it really hurts. Sometimes it breaks our hearts into a million little pieces. Sometimes, we think it is so unfair. Sometimes it feels like even God has turned his back on us. But then He surprises us. He gives us something bigger and better than what we had and what we ever dreamt of having. And then we realize that it is not all bad. In fact, it isn’t bad at all. Life is always going to be full of challenges. But there is always light at the end of the tunnel. So at your lowest of all lows, remember that the only way to go is. It cannot get worse. It may seem like it, but it isn’t. It can’t and it won’t. I’m sorry; I know I’m babbling. I guess I woke up on the right side of the bed. Gee, can’t wait to see what God has got in store for me. This is gonna be exciting!
I have been reading this book for the past three days, and it is amazing!!! I would recommend it to anyone who really wants to read a book that is uhm…what’s the word? This book is so good that it was the bestselling book in the WORLD for 2003, 2004, and 2005. Woah!!! If that is not the work of God, tell me what is. It’s a forty day devotional book that starts by telling you that your life is not about you; it is about God. Ain’t that something?
For those of you that did not know, Boorish has replied the previous post. You can check the comment section for his reply.
And last but not least, please read my latest article, When I Became A Woman, and tell me what you think. Pretty please. I promise I’ll give you a wet kiss if you do.

Yes a must read – I mean the purpose Drtiven life. Sometimes what you enjoy doing can become a chore, but the good thing is to see that low time as a phase that will soon pass.
Glad to see you are well again, and wish you the best wishes with yur writing. All the best.

Life of a stranger: I’m praying that I do not get bored of this book b4 the 40 days r over. You know how devil works. Thanx 4 wishing me luck on the book.
Nilla: Hey sweetie, I miss u oh. Dont even know wat has been happening to/with u.
KingPin: I have rested too much abeg. In fact, I am sick of it. As 4 starting and not finishing ur books, don’t worry, we all do that. By we, i mean ‘aspiring’ writers.
NaijaBloke: Sweetie, it’s not like that oh ehn. But what kinda of man are you sef to not know that ur wifey is not feeling fine? E no good o

That book is more than awesome. It sums all awe of life.
I can relate about the chapters that are slow and some that are like mmmmm love the my writing. Currently, I’m on chapter four and the drag is like geeee, hence my previous post about the only option being success and failure not being any. I had to skip chapter two for the same reasons and enjoyed writing one and two. So I relate big time, but like you say, the only way is up… and today is the showdown with chapter four. I’ve resorted to putting pressure and maintaining momentum by completing two-three chapters a week, so it’s gonna be a 20hour writing day from today onward to September.
Did you investigate Lulu.com and Booksurge? The independent publishing online houses?
I read your …became a woman post. Getting my wife to read it too as she can relate better than ‘manly’ me but I wrote my two cents worth, do check it out.

Oh and errr, sorry about the sickness. It must be hell. Try getting a toothache caused by a bone shrapnel lodged into your tooth nerve, and right after that, both your knees’ ligaments and tendons tearing to hurt so bad you can’t afford to walk… and your apartment is one stair up… no lifts. Now that makes life interesting.
Tima says
Vera! So sorry to hear about ur illness but i’m glad u r getting better.
u r not bannling though u sound like something/someone really hurt you. It’s good to be optimistic and you seem to be handlng it well. Good on you!

Izz: Ouch for that tooth ache and ligaments thing. Sorry. I know about LULU, but honestly, I’d prefer to be published by a big publisher…by the Grace of God.
Tima: I sound like someone/something hurt me? Mmmm. You don’t know the half of it. But yeah, I’m doing better. It really cannot get worse.
Ugo: If you want more than a kiss, then just say what it is that you want. Whatever it is you want, I gat it. Just say it, my dear. Hehehe.
Bibi: Thanks love. I’m sorry bout ur pain; really sucks, I know. Hope it gets better. You should take some midol or something. Ndo.
Omohemi: Sweetie, don’t worry, you will have your Omohemi character, and we will also split the proceeds of the book. No doubt. And yea, I’m feeling much better; thanks for asking babe.
Pink-Satin: Yeah, you really should read it. It did not become a best seller for nothing.

and do you know that Rick Warren doesnt receive any of the profits that come from his book, which by the way is A LOT?? i had the privilege of having him minister to me in abundant life here in England so i heard it from his own mouth, and well, God is good 🙂

Hey, Vera Ezimora!
(feel free to erase this comment as it does not pertain to your original post, but I couldn’t find your email address.)
My name is Lucy Dee and I’m a black female standup comedienne in NYC.
I caught wind of your blog via a fellow blogger’s blogroll.
Based on your very worldly blog, I figured you might be interested in my most recent post on Metabigotry in comedy.
I’m trying to “get the word out,” and I decided to drop you a line.
Perhaps, you would be interested in stopping by my spot and giving your opinion?
Thank you again, and thanks for being such an open-minded citizen.
