Well, not literally. I have mentioned on this blog before how when I started shaving my legs, my mom (who is practically hairless) and my aunt (who is nothing close to being hairless) both told me that I was ruining my natural beauty by shaving my legs. I thanked them for their unsolicited opinion, and I kept on shaving those legs.
Back then, however, I did it mostly when I was going to be wearing a skirt and pretty constantly during the summer because I wanted people [READ: BOYS] to see and notice my hairless legs. At some point, however, I realized it did not matter if I shaved my legs or not because no one would notice. No one would notice because just like my mom, I barely had any hair (although I had more than her). So unless someone was rubbing their hands up and down my legs or staring at them with a magnifying glass, they would never know the difference.
But even when I realized this, I still maintained my shaving. By this time, I was no longer doing it for people [Again, READ: BOYS]; I was now doing it for myself because the truth is, I loved rubbing my hands up and down my legs whenever they were hairless. It made me feel so feminine and sexy and powerful, like I could conquer the world and run for President and make sweet, fatty cake calorie-free. And when I’d shave my underarms, I’d go above and beyond to raise my arms and show the world what I had beneath.
I feel blessed to be a part of the #RockYourLegs campaign from Schick and Skintimate. I still remember the “Skintimate or not” ads I could not stop staring at. When I first used the Schick Intuition with revitalizing moisture, I nearly went to church for a Thanksgiving service. It went on so smoothly that I thought it wasn’t working. Then I looked at the blade and realized that it was working indeed; it was working too well.
Prior to this, Funmie was already a Schick fan, but she never told me how great it was, which in turn, made me question her friendship and loyalty. How could she not tell me. I tried several other Schick products, and I was just blown away.
For the purpose of this post, I was all too eager to once again use the Schick Intuition for your viewing pleasure. This thing is beyond amazing. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get my camera to focus on my leg (not the camera’s fault; I’m still learning to do more than point and shoot with my camera), but I wish you could feel these legs!
On average, I shave about once a week, and it’s really fast and convenient. I can do it in or out of the shower, but I prefer to do it in the shower, right before I take a shower. I can tell you this much: the days that I do shave, I take extra time putting my lotion on. Haven’t you seen how the ladies do it in commercials? In slow motion, with their eyes closed, and with a wide smile on their faces. Yup, that’s me after I shave.
I do realize that shaving is an absolutely personal thing, so I won’t force anyone to do it, but if you do, try it with Schick and Skintimate. Oh, and don’t get me started on the fruity [edible!] smell of Skintimate. It makes me want to serve my legs for dessert — to myself. I have heard that when you become a really old lady, the simple things become difficult, so while I still have my youth, I intend to enjoy and explore it to the fullest.
