Help me! I’m kidding, I don’t really want to be helped.
I can no longer help myself. I live close to Walmart, less than a mile away, so access to Walmart isn’t a problem. But I will not lie to myself or to you and say that access is what makes me go there. I just love Walmart. If it’s available at Walmart, I’m buying it there. I only consider other options when it’s not there — or when I just can’t bring myself to buy it from there. For example, I can’t buy goat meat from Walmart. But I don’t buy any other kind of meat from there either (except liver, when I cook fried rice). Somewhere in my head, I have convinced myself that meat should not be bought from Walmart.
Things I buy from Walmart include but are not limited to: food (cereal, bread, butter, etc), fruits, vegetables, lotion, make-up remover, toiletries, nail polish, coffee, certain appliances, toothpaste, Aleve, umbrellas, pet fish, disposables, laundry detergent, dish washing soap, bleach, insecticides, anything needed for my hair (shampoo, conditioner, hair brush, etc), snacks, ice cream, popsicles, stationary, pictures (prints) and much, much more.
It has become so bad that when I don’t come home at my usual time, Igwe calls to ask, what are you buying from Walmart? He doesn’t even bother to ask if I’m there, and he has never been wrong. The one time he was half-wrong, it was because there was traffic and I just wasn’t at Walmart yet, but I was on my way. I’ll stop at Walmart any day and any time, and I always park in the same aisle.
I am so familiar with Walmart that several times customers have asked me where to find things — and I have always known the answer. Sometimes when I get to the cashier, she’s asking me where I found what I’m buying and how much does it cost? I know when Walmart has rearranged an area or stopped carrying a product. I know some of their staff by names, and I know what area they work in. I have had situations where I’m in an aisle studying some product and a customer comes and asks the Walmart staff about a product, but the staff doesn’t know. Not to worry, Vera to the rescue, I always know. Sometimes, I even walk with the customer to go show them what they’re looking for.
Sometimes I see something I want at another store, but I don’t buy it because I want to come home and look for it at Walmart. If they don’t have it in store, I’ll order it online and have it shipped to the store for free. Sometimes, when I’m bored, I go to Walmart to look around. I have almost bought pet toys from Walmart. The problem with that is that I do not own pets. The lines are never too long for me at Walmart, and I never have a useless trip there because there is always something to buy.
I absolutely love the store, and I cannot help myself. One time, I considered getting a job as a manager at Walmart, but I never applied because the store near my house was not hiring for managers. I have since passed that phase. Â I still want to work with Walmart, but I’m not talking about being a staff there. I’m talking about working with Walmart as a blogger. I have ideas. If I ever get to work with Walmart in the capacity that I want to, I don’t even know how I will react.
I discover so many wonderful things at Walmart that when my friends ask me where I got something and I say, Walmart, they’re shocked. They keep asking how come I always find these things at Walmart. Meanwhile, I’ll be signing myself up for the Walmart Addicts Anonymous 12 Step Program. I have tried to fight it, but I can’t deny it anymore: I’m addicted to Walmart.

LOL Vera, I hope someone from Walmart sees this and contacts you to be their official blogger or a mystery shopper.
I love Walmart too but not as much as you obviously do. All the bad press about Walmart flies over my head.
Like you, I hate their fresh food especially their meat and fruits. But boxed groceries, bring it on! I like their bakery items too and I am not ashamed to say that I shop off the discount bakery shelf.
When Walmart contacts you, abeg I will be your assistant Walmart mystery shopper.

Someone loves Walmart than I DO! My sister showed me a pair of leggings I had bought her from Walmart 6 years ago, I didn’t even remember buying her that. But when I saw the tag, Miley Cyrus the one with a small zipper going down to your ankle, she just kept saying, you always bought things from Walmart like that was the ony store in America. My resonse will have to be between reason of its proximity, or because I just bought cheap things then, and Im not ashamed to admit. But when I had a baby, I refused to shop for clothes there cus they had a reputation of slacking after you wear them for the first and maybe I shoukd include LAST time.
