iCook: Fried Stew + White Rice With Johnsonville Andouille Sausages

I cooked! You know I love making up new foods. Well this time, in honor of Mardi Gras (which is coming up!), I went for regular Nigerian fried stew with fully cooked Andouille Sausage from Johnsonville, which is one of their Split Rope Sausage flavors. This sausage, from Johnsonville, is unlike most other sausage in its category.To start,  it’s fully cooked and packs great flavor but unlike most other fully cooked sausage, Johnsonville uses absolutely no fillers which is how their sausages get their juicy and firm texture and bite. Also, Johnsonville Sausage is made using only premium cuts of pork to pack in the real flavor (and believe me when I say that this makes so much of a difference!), and finally, there are lots of unique flavors to choose from, including Polish Kielbasa Sausage, Three-Cheese Italian Style Sausage, Smoked Sausage, Andouille Sausage (the one I used), and Chicken Sausage Italian Style With Cheese.If you have ever eaten sausages, then you know that there are sausages, and there are SAUSAGES. Johnsonville Split Rope Sausages are SAUSAGES. You don’t really, really know what you are missing in texture and taste until you taste this Johnsonville sausage. I don’t know what the other varieties taste like, but I can taste the spiciness and unique flavor of the Andouille Sausage.

Ingredients:

1.  Johnsonville Andouille Sausage

2.  Tomatoes

3.  Green Pepper

4.  Habanero Peppers (not pictured)

5.  Garlic Powder

6.  Onions

7.  Knorr Cubes

8.  Curry Powder

9.  Rice (not pictured)

 

How to Prepare:

1.  Chop the onions, tomatoes, and peppers. Put them in a pan and add about 1/4 cup of oil. Cook with the pan open on medium heat, stir occasionally.

2.  When all the water evaporates, add the garlic powder, Knorr cubes, and curry powder.

3.  Stir. Cook for about 5 minutes.

4.  Add the chopped sausages. Cook for about 5 minutes, still with the top open.

5.  Boil the rice as you would normally boil it.

After-Cooking Voila. You’re ready to eat.
