I have never seen anyone coming to America and thinking that there is something as ludicrous as hunger in America. America, the land of milk and honey? No way. Everyone is happy and well fed here. And that’s exactly what I thought too. I thought that everything was great here.
I’ll never forget that day I saw my former high school mate begging on the street. It’s an image and an experience that I am yet to forget. He was all American. Not a naturalized citizen, but a born one, from two equally American parents. How come he was hungry and broke and begging on the street?
I don’t suppose that anyone – no matter his/her disposable income – can cure hunger alone. But if each and everyone of us just tries, we will have a noticeable, impossible-to-ignore impact. We can put a meal on a person’s table and give him/her one more moment of hope.
That’s why I’m proud to tell you about the #HungerIs campaign from Albertsons Safeway group of grocery stores, running throughout the month of September to help in the relief of childhood hunger. There are two ways to participate and they are both extremely easy.
1. Some Albertsons Safeway stores will ask you (during checkout, by the cashier) if you’d like to donate to the Hunger Is fundraiser.
2. By purchasing a product from the following brands, you automatically purchase a meal for a hungry child: Con Agra – Marie Calender’s, Healthy Choice, Bertolli’s and PF Changs brands, Coke, Unilever, Kellogg’s, Campbell’s. Items can only be purchased from any of the following Albertsons Safeway stores: Albertsons, Safeway, Vons Pavilions, Jewel-Osco, Randalls, United Supermarkets, Tom Thumb, Acme, Star Market, Shaws, Carrs / Safeway, Market Street, Amigos.
Can you believe that as many as 1 in 5 children in America do not have access to adequate meals? That’s a whopping 20% of children. In America. As of today. Today, not last year or last decade, but the today that you and I live in. Incredible.
Let’s do what we can, and let’s do it now.
This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Albertsons Safeway . The opinions and text are all mine.

How can America have 1 in 5 people hungry and be sending soldiers all over the world? America is Heaven. I repeat, America is heaven. Send money to africa instead . One day I just clocked and stopped giving money to rich people who thrust long dicks everywhere because it’s utter foolishness when people need it more and genuinely in Africa. I would buy the products if I was sure that I needed them, but not to feed someone who’s by birth, a “prince and princess” but may have willingly chosen to be begging. Leave me out of that scam.

I find the statistics that 20% American children are hungry or don’t have access to adequate diets.
The fundraiser may seem shady, but we always tend to think that things are greener or better or more pleasurable in America, Canada, Switzerland or any other country than where we presently are. But in real sense, places like that have their own eyesores. The solution will be to make the most of what we have, these children for instance are our future, why not as a community we look out for these people. If it is to train teenagers not to be stupidly impregnated and giving the society more mouths to feed.
But let us a citizens of the world help one another out.
