One of these days, I’ll only have one job, and I’m sure you can guess what job that would be. Until then, I have a full time job, and I am still a full time blogger. I know I’m not alone. The luckiest ones of us don’t have to deal with having a 9 to 5 job while still blogging. On some days, my to-do list is so long that I feel like tearing my hair off my scalp. Sometimes, I fall behind on replying comments, and I promise you, I do not do it on purpose at all.
My 9 to 5 job is done mostly from home and mostly on the computer. For me, the advantage and perks of working from home cannot be understated, but you know what dies when you work from home? Fashion. I’m a total bum when I’m home working, but you’d never be able to tell when I have to go for meetings. I clean up nicely!
When work is over at 5pm, it becomes time to work on my other job: Verastic. Now, can you imagine how exhausted I am at 5pm, and how uninspired I am? The last thing I want to do is turn on another computer and type another word. Sometimes I’m resentful of having to split my time, but it’s only for a fleeting moment. Sometimes after my 9 to 5, I am so tired that I fall asleep on the couch with my computer. Sometimes, it’s an hour nap, and other times, it’s for several hours because I am so exhausted. The problem with sleeping for several hours is that it becomes more difficult to sleep at night, and then I wake up tired in the morning. And the cycle repeats.
These days, however, I have been very strict with my time. I get done with my 9 to 5, then I rest for an hour. It may not necessarily be a nap, but just rest. Time to not try to figure out anything, but to just rest. The difference between this and what I used to do before is that I am taking deliberate and calculated time to rest, not just randomly fall asleep on the couch. I feel really refreshed when I wake up.
For me personally, sleep (or at least rest) is my best way of coping and achieving balance between not just my two jobs, but between my jobs and life. However, for times when extra help is needed, it’s RESCUE to the rescue.
RESCUE helps you stress less and be more in control. It’s all natural and homeopathic, and was developed by a doctor. It’s gentle, safe, alcohol-free, non-habit forming, and has no side effects. Exciting, no? It comes in a variety of forms: RESCUE Pastilles, RESCUE Sleep Liquid Melts, RESCUE Pearls, and more. I have the RESCUE Pastilles. It’s chewy, and it reminds me of gummy bears, and who doesn’t like gummy bears? You can see the picture of it up there.
You can get a coupon HERE, and RESCUE can be found at your local CVS, Walgreens, Sprouts, Whole Foods, and wherever you find natural products.
I’m always looking to learn, so please, tell me, what techniques do you use to relax?
P.S. On the plus side, I read that every millionaire has at least 7 sources of income. I have two, so five more to go. Talk about seeing the glass as half full.
