Okay….so this is not a real update. Forgive me. I have been typing up a post for y’ll since yesterday, and I still have not been able to post it. I wanted to gist you about the naming ceremony I attended (and also show some pictures, of course), but right now…
I’m scared!!!!
When I came home, Obama had 3 electoral votes while McCain had 16. I was about to pass out. I was shaking like a leaf in winter. For those that are either not following the race or just not into politics, the magic number that each candidate has to get is 270. As of right now, Obama has 103 electoral votes while McCain has 58.
Okay, breath Vera.
The fact that McCain even has any electoral vote at all means that God did not answer my prayer – the one where all McCain supporters will mistakenly vote for Obama.
Okay, I’m off. I’ll update properly later. Maybe tomorrow. If Obama doesn’t win, I might not blog tomorrow. In fact, I will NOT blog. God, I’m really very scared.
I’m with you hun. I’m here in the UK but can’t sleep. This election means so much to not just the US but the world and the whole of humanity. A victory for Obama would say so much about how far we’ve come in the human race. That we can walk forward and not backwards. That we can see the light and not run back into the dark because we are afraid of what the light might make us see – our own weaknesses and insecurities staring us in the face.
Truly if Obama does not win the world is indeed in an abyss that would take centuries to come out of.
Hopefully there would be tears of joy and not sadnesss. The world waits patiently…for lynched souls to sing today, to hear the chorus of victory to know that they did not die in vain. I would give anything to see Martin Luther King and Malcolm X smile today. I’m sure I sound deranged but it would mean so much to know the world is finally changing.
I’ve not read this over so pls forgive any typos. I’m tired but it’s back to CNN/BBC/SKY.
