Adele Turned Down £12 million To Be The Face Of L’Oreal? L’Oreal, Pick Me, Please!

Now, you know that I love me some Adele. Well, maybe you didn’t know, but now you do. Apart from the fact that she is disturbingly talented, she is also a curvy girl who doesn’t get naked for the sake of entertainment. I relate to her. And I think she is very, very beautiful. Yes, I am biased. I know that.

Anyway, L’Oreal approached Adele to be their face and take over from Cheryl Cole in 2009 (and Cheryl gets paid £500,000 per year). The negotiations were going well, and it seemed like Adele would sign on, but she suddenly withdrew without offering the brand an explanation for her cancellation. L’Oreal would have paid her £12 million, an amount of money that I cannot even comprehend. £12 million is equal to almost $20 million and about N3.2 billion. Good God Almighty.

And she turned it down?

Looka here, L’Oreal, I know you say that I am a nobody, but a nobody is exactly what you need. I have nothing to back up my previous statement, but it is imperative you know that I would do twice the work for half the money. I will be on time. I will be professional. I will not be a diva (unless you want me to be). I will not have weird tattoos in weird places. I will not be caught sexting or kissing some random man. I will not get into fights. And I will rock L’Oreal like it’s going out of style.

It’s just so unfair that someone can have enough to reject £12 million, while some of us don’t even understand what £12 million means. Pick me, L’Oreal!
