Welcome to June.
We are in the 6th month already! I’m not going to complain about how fast the month has gone because I have come to accept and expect it. Every month always flies by. It’s like life is in a hurry to make me a senior citizen. Still, I rise! April was heavily soiled with the aftermath of the accident I had on March 31st, but May – especially toward the end – was a lot more organized. It was a bit busy – business wise – here on the blog, which I love, but I feel bad sometimes when I post multiple sponsored posts. It’s never my intention to do so, but sometimes, these things come in rapid succession. Nevertheless, I’m trying – walahi I am – to give you better, more sincere, more personal posts.
Oh, so Nigeria now has a new President: General Muhammadu Buhari. Congratulations, Sir! Every time I hear him speak, I get tickled because of his Hausa accent. I lived in the North – Jos, Plateau State – so I’m used to the accent. However, I’ve been living in America for 15 years, and I barely hear the Hausa accent. As a matter of fact, I barely come across Hausa people.
May has been a most beautiful month. It’s not that anything out of the ordinary happened per se, but I found myself being very, very grateful to God for His grace. I was so grateful for us [Igwe and I] being able to accomplish a number of personal goals and scratch them off our list. Thank You, Lord, and I’m looking forward to June.
Speaking of June, my mommy’s birthday was last week. The woman has lived to see yet another year, thank God. She hasn’t changed. She’s still little and yellow and very sarcastic. I have been blogging for 9 years, and I am yet to put up a picture of my parents. I’m so protective of them. I want you to e-meet them, but I always chicken out. Maybe next year. If you see a picture of my mommy first, you’ll swear I look like her. Then when you see a picture of my daddy, you’ll change your mind.
Summer is here, and on my list of fashion-related wants are maxi dresses, floppy hats, cute [flat] sandals, and nice totes and satchels. Maybe a few sunglasses. I don’t ask for much. I just wanna be comfortable and cute — and not sweating. Pretty much like every other day.
I have not traveled in so long. I’m hoping to make it somewhere – even if it’s to freaking Washington D.C. I just need to leave my house and pack a luggage and go somewhere and spend the night there. I’m working on it. There’s so much of the world to see and I am already way behind. I have so much catching up to do on life. When I start talking/writing like this, I am tempted to go into details and tell you the context of what I am saying, but I can’t. Not yet. I have so much to tell you, Sweet Potatoes.
Meanwhile, thank you for riding with me, and I love you. By His grace, I’ll see you in July when I come back to tell you all about my June. May we all have a blessed June. Amen.
How was May for you?

Thank God May was a good one. I am very sure your prayer is to have increased business on your site and when that happens we know to expect sponsored posts. I like your fashion want-list for summer.

Thank you for understanding, Okeoghene. I really appreciate it. Thank you.

Hmm.. nice one Vera..
May for me was also nice since I recently discovered freedom comes from within, so I have this new attitude to life and living..
What this brought for me is loads of attention from the opposite..
I thought they said life begins at 40, all I can see just the opposite showing you too much affection..
May brought this lady to me amongst others, despite telling her I can’t offer her anything she won’t stop looking for this only child..
I actually was stressed in the month of May since I don’t know what to do again.. You know easy for ladies to tell us off, but seems a lot harder for we guys to say the same..
Aside the attention all over the place, May was fun and I enjoyed it in my capacity..
Let me advice you before I leave, make sure when Igwe clocks 40 plus, chain him down, seems ladies can see what we cannot see at that age..
On that note enjoy this month of June..

Loool.
Fad, I read your comment and immediately told Igwe, “When you’re 40, I’m chaining you down.” Lol. And errr, who is this woman that wants to steal husband? Please send us her name and address immediately!
