Jesse Jackson Jr
Jesse Jackson, Jr, son of Jesse Jackson and a Congress Man in Chicago resigned from his office in November, shortly after being re-elected into the position. Now he’s being accused of taking $750,000 out of his campaign fund and diverting it for personal uses. He has pleaded guilty to this charge. His wife, Sandra Jackson has also pleaded guilty to tax offence. If convicted, her maximum sentence will be $3,000, but because she admitted guilt, she’ll get lesser jail time.
But here’s the stupid part. Guess what he used the money for? You know, the whopping $750,000 – that’s N112,500,000 for those who need it to be put in Naira perspective. So anyway, what did Jesse Jackson Jr and his wife do with the money? Oh, you ,know, the usual:
1. $40,000 on a Rolex watch
2. $10,000 for Bruce Lee memorabilia
3. $20,000 in Michael Jackson memorabilia
4. Martin Luther King Jr memorabilia
5. Fur coats, capes, etc
6. Jimi Hendrix memorabilia
7. Travel expenses for a woman he says was his social acquaintance. Jury is still out on that one.
If I could see Jesse Jackson Jr now, I would ask him, “My friend, are you a learner?! How can you steal $750.000 and all you thought to buy was memorabilia, fur coats, and a Rolex watch? You couldn’t purchase at least one land in Nigeria?! Or open your own Eko Hotel? Hiiiiaaaannnnn. The person that took your brain and replaced it with butter, it will never be good for him/her!”
