Number One: I recently found out about the Nigerian singer, Davido (pronounced Day-Vee-Doe). He’s apparently the hottest thing on the block right now. This, according to what I’ve recently learned. His single, Dami Duro is not bad at all, and I only heard it on Friday. Imagine my shockprise. I watched the video that same day and I was taken aback. No, it’s not the video that took me back. There was nothing spectacular about that. It was the fact that this guy has been reigning for a while and I only just heard about him. Oh, but it gets worse.
Number Two: On Saturday, I was watching an interview on Gidi Lounge (of the CEO of the site) and he started talking about how the site came into existence and how and why they named it Gidi Lounge. My people, that was when I realized that Las Gidi = Lagos. Prior to watching this video, I thought Las Gidi was a town or area in the State of Lagos. Do not judge me!
I used to wonder why everyone was always headed to this one Las Gidi. Why not Victoria Island? Or Ikoyi? Or Lekki? You get my point. All I heard and read was Las Gidi. So I figured Las Gidi must be a really nice place in Lagos. That’s the only reason why everyone is headed there nah, abi?
When I tweeted that I just found out the real meaning of Las Gidi, my tweeties had a fun time laughing at me. It was during this time that Tunde decided to do busy body and award me with my LASTma uniform. It’s clearly a uniform that I have earned. I have gone above and beyond to earn myself a LASTma uniform.
In light of this fact, I proudly declare my membership of the Association of Last Carriers.
