Melissa McCarthy stars as Molly in Mike & Molly, a very funny sitcom. The first time I heard about the show was when Mike was interviewed by someone – don’t remember who – before the show started. I don’t know when or where it airs, but the few times I have watched it, I have enjoyed it.
Word on the street is that Melissa McCarthy in under contract to remain fat for the duration of her stay on Mike & Molly. The news rumor is that she badly wants to lose some weight, but part of the contract of Mike & Molly is that for the duration of she show, she is to remain the size she was when the show started.
Reason is that part of the humor in Mike & Molly is their size. It’s part of the story, part of the plot. So if Molly loses weight, then that probably changes a lot of things. Maybe it’d be like King of Queens.
On the plus side – pun intended, she’s not under pressure to lose weight like most Hollywood actresses. I want to say that it is wrong for the production to demand that she remains her size (if in fact she wants to lose weight so badly as is being said), but if she did sign the contract to remain her size, then I guess she has to pick between this job and her weight.
If I were her, I’d totally stick to my weight until the contract runs out. Unless her health is being affected, then that would be different. Alternatively, she can wait for her contract to be over, and then renegotiate. Perhaps they can write it into the show that she lost weight.
I like how I’m on here analyzing what Melissa should do because of course, Melissa cares to know what I think about what she should do, especially in this issue that I know next to nothing about.
P.S. I’d totally get paid to be fat.

Hollywood!–either they are signed to loss weight, gain weight or stay this same…not such a good idea and it is so not healthy, but they got to make money, I guess.

Yup. Definitely gotta make money. If someone is willing to pay me to be [or change] my size, I will take it FAST.

how come they can’t allow her to wear a fat suit? like the type martin lawrence wore in big momma
Vera Ezimora says
Hmmm. That’s true. I don’t know. Maybe they feel like it won’t be the same? Like people would know she isn’t that size anyway, and perhaps, it will ruin the ratings? In Martin’s case, there is a lot of humor involved, I guess. I mean, he’s a man playing a big, fat grandma. *shrugs*
