This past weekend, my sweetheart, Mikki invited us to her mom’s 50th birthday. I was really giddy when I got the invitation because it had been soooooo long since I went out. I’m not the girl who likes going out every week or even every month, but every now and then, a girl just wants to dress up and go out. So I did not care that it was a 50th birthday, and I did not care who would be there. I just wanted to get doll’d up and go out. And because it had been so long since I went out, it had also been so long since I took pictures. I know Mikki’s mom was the celebrant, but Mikki looked so gorgeous! Sorry, I don’t have a picture of her. I was busy taking pictures of myself.
My 6 years of being anonymous has really done a number on me because now I almost don’t know how to post pictures of myself online. And this crazy because of how much I actually love taking pictures of myself. I’m vain. I LOVE looking at myself. I drive with my overhead mirror down because I enjoying admiring myself, even while driving. Anyway, I’ll try to let my blog match my enthusiasm for my own self. What manner of love shall we call this?
Oh, you know what else made me hella excited about going out? My red lipstick! Believe it or not, but this is the first time in my life that I have ever bought and used a red lipstick. I always thought that a red lipstick would not look good on me, so I just never tried. Wonder where I got that idea. So on Friday, Igwe and I had gone to the mall, and while I was there, I remembered that I had decided to try a red lipstick. I’ll put up a separate post about my new lippy. Looovvveee!
I’ve been so busy talking about myself that I didn’t even talk about the party. Well, it was fun. Lots to eat and drink. Now, have I told you how much I love myself? Ha! I’m going to have another post for Easter Sunday (with pictures) cause this one is already kind of picture-heavy.
So, this is my partial weekend recount. How was your weekend, my Sweet Potatoes?

You look gorgeous in those colors and You rock the red lipsick. Looks very good on you. Loving your all natural hair too. I decided to lock mine after I got tired of not knowing what to do with the hair evey morning. 🙂
*gasp* Awww. Girl, I cannot blame you sef. As you know, I am still a rookie in the natural hair department. As a matter of fact, this is the only style I know how to do, but I’m okay with that. No hurry. So do you like your hair locked?
I’m loving it for now. 🙂
Good to know. Enjoy!

Thank you, Berry! I should dress up more often abi? Lol.
Vera too much enjoyment! Chop the life of your head (that’s a direct translation of Yoruba to English)….lol
Lol. It’s funny how certain things don’t make much sense when they are translated into English. Gotta love our languages. But thank you sha … I dey try.
Love, love, love from head to toes. You have to give me a makeup application lesson :-).
P.S. I know what you mean about wanting to be dolled up every once in a while.
Girl, I’m still learning how to do makeup on myself oh! If I give you lessons, you’ll end up looking like ojuju calabar. Lol. I only know how to paint my face.
Hahahahaha, well you are painting your face well well.
We thank God oh.
