Maimi was so amazing, and now, I don’t know what to tell you. I don’t know where to start or how to start it. I’ll try starting from what I think is the beginning of the journey.
Igwe, Funmie, and I were on the same flight from Baltimore to Miami through American Airlines. The flight was scheduled for sometime past 5pm. At about 2pm, we received a text that the flight had been rescheduled for about 6pm. Still, we drove to the airport like our flight was still at 5pm. As soon as we checked in and printed our boarding passes, it started raining and an announcement came over the speakers saying there was a tornado warning and everyone in the airport had to go to the basement.
My people, like joke, like joke, we all descended to the basement. Literally ten minutes later, it stopped raining and the tornado watch was over. Meanwhile, our flight kept getting rescheduled further and further. By the time we returned from the basement, our flight was completely cancelled. Panic mode!
Long story short, we had to drive to Raegan National Airport in Washington D.C (about an hour away from where we were) for a 7pm flight that ended up leaving at about 10:30pm. We got to Miami past 1am. American Airlines is HORRIBLE!!! Never again. That said, Miami was amaze-balls! My girl, Uju Dr. Uju graduated with high honors. Not just honors, but high honors. Go Uju!! I’m so proud of her; I don’t even know how to express myself.
We stayed in a rented condo that was literally on the beach. You go downstairs and you’re at the beach. It was so beautiful. There were times we just stood outside and admired God’s creativity. How does He do it??? We visited an Argentinian restaurant (called The Knife) where each person was entitled to a bottle of wine. I opted for Pepsi. We also went swimming several times, and guess what? I can finally swim! Fall back, Michael Phelps. Vera is in the building pool! By the time we came back to Baltimore, I was a few shades darker. My foundation doesn’t match anymore — at least for now.
At this time, I’ll proceed to tell you our Miami story via pictures:
We had over 800 pictures in total, so you can imagine how long it took me to select these 42.

Aww fun fun happy pictures. Y’all had a great time and those photos on the balcony scenery *sigh* Lovely.
Congrats to Dr Uju. May God bless the works of her hands always.
P.S: That rice looks like fried rice though. Just saying
P.P.S: I love your little blue dress 🙂
Vera Ezimora says
Amen!! Thank you for praying for Uju.
I don’t know what the rice is, but it came plain. I had to add a combination of the sauces in the previous picture to get it to look that way (and taste better). But I definitely enjoyed the food. Thank you for my blue dress compliment. I love the dress, too 😀
