Back in 2008,\u00a0Lanc\u00f4me was doing a free makeup session by “Tommy,” and I went because it was free. I had no intention to buy anything, but nothing wrong with getting made up for free. That was how I went there and loved\u00a0Lanc\u00f4me so much that I ended up using it. It’s been 6 years, and I have never gone back [Read that post here]<\/strong><\/a>. Not only have I not left\u00a0Lanc\u00f4me, I have actually tried to leave (for no reason) by finding something else that works just as good. I got samples from a bunch of brands, but\u00a0Lanc\u00f4me still came out on top [Read that post here]<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

This last Saturday, I went to the\u00a0Lanc\u00f4me shop at Macy’s because — you guessed it — they were doing another free makeup session. This time, it was inspired by Jason Wu. Just like in the case of Tommy<\/em>, I didn’t (and still don’t) have an idea who Jason Wu was (is). I could Google him, but I don’t feel like it. But did that stop me from going? Of course not. This time, however, I went with the intention of buying my foundation. The one I have is practically empty and I have been meaning to replace it, so I figured why not. But the foundation is all I planned on buying.<\/p>\n

When I got there, a lovely girl, Sarah took care of me. I didn’t care what kind of makeup she did. I told her to go to town on my face. Her hands were so soft. When she rubbed the lotion and toner on my face, I felt like I was getting a facial. The good kind of facial, not the other kind<\/em>. I was so relaxed. I’m telling you, it’s imperative that we pamper ourselves: manicure, pedicure, massage, facial, makeup — everything.<\/p>\n

This is the result of the makeup Sarah did. The first picture was taken with the flash on, and the second picture was taken without the flash. After I looked at myself in the mirror (several times), I decided that I would also buy the concealer. She used the concealer around my eyes to brighten my look. This is a technique I’ll definitely be trying at home whenever this damn heat lets me be great.<\/p>\n

In total, I ended up spending $77. The foundation cost $42 ($2 more than when I blogged about it a year ago), and the concealer cost $30. Do you see how little the concealer is? I have mascara that’s bigger than that. I want to say that I don’t know who\u00a0Lanc\u00f4me think they are for selling such a tiny little blurb of a concealer for $30, but I know that if their concealer is anything as good as their foundation, then I am hooked for sure. I also contemplated buying their pressed powder<\/strong><\/a>, which retails for $30. First time ever using pressed powder on my foundation, but a part of me told me to respect myself and stop spending recklessly. So I didn’t buy it. Yet. I cannot promise that I will not go back and buy it. After all, that’s how I ended up with the foundation the first time (I went back to buy it after initially rejecting it).<\/p>\n

Literally everyone who looked at my face complimented me. I was sure that this was a ploy by\u00a0Lanc\u00f4me and the entire staff at Macy’s, but then, when I walked out of Macy’s and went through the mall, I got compliments, too, so I guess maybe I can believe the compliments now.<\/p>\n

When Sarah and her soft hands were working on my face, she called me all kinds of names. I had to save them on my phone. She said my beauty is “Ethereal.”<\/em> She said I looked “Regal.”<\/em> She called me a “Summer goddess”<\/em> and said that my face is a “Beautiful palette.” \u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Now, tell me, how could I not have purchased something? Better yet, how did I walk away without purchasing one of everything at\u00a0Lanc\u00f4me? With the way Sarah was talking and making me feel like a celebrity, she could have sold me a bridge, and I would have bought it. And by the way, sitting there and having your face beat is not for the faint at heart. The\u00a0Lanc\u00f4me shop at White Marsh Mall has a lot of traffic. People are constantly passing by and looking at you. Most will say something kind or at least smile, and others will give you the she-think-she-cute<\/em> look.<\/p>\n

I knew I was cute. I was a regal and ethereal summer goddess with a face like a beautiful palette. You couldn’t tell me otherwise. Well done,\u00a0Lanc\u00f4me.<\/p>\n
