I don’t know when this happened, or maybe it’s always been there, but I have only just realized it. I have heard this from many, many people, so I’m starting to believe that it’s true. Apparently, my face is too expressive. I have been told that I am a snob, and that I look mean and unapproachable.<\/p>\n

The face that keeps getting me in trouble<\/p><\/div>\n

With friends, co-workers, and even recently, with trainers, I keep getting the same thing: my face. Basically, the problem is that I have become unable to hide my lack of interest in a subject matter. Or when I think you’re saying something stupid, it’s written all over my face. I am not aware of when I’m doing this, nor do I know how to stop it.<\/p>\n

In my defense, however, my face isn’t always telling the tale of what’s in my head. Sometimes, I am just in a different zone. I might just be imagining myself on television and grossly unaware of what’s going on around me. I remember one time I was so lost in my head that Igwe asked what was wrong. Nothing was wrong. I was imagining myself driving to the airport in my off-white Range Rover to pick my cousin who was flying in from London, and the issue was whether I’d wear flats of mid-heels. I mean, this is important stuff.<\/p>\n

I might be wrong, but I think my face problem – is it even a problem? – comes with age. I am certain that my face hasn’t always been so expressive (I think), but I think that with me getting older, I have also become less patient, and so in times that I would have smiled and pretended to be remotely interested, these days I just don’t have the time, the patience, or the will to do so.<\/p>\n

Speaking of patience, it’s also waning in the department of relationships. I’m so glad that I already have Igwe cause otherwise I might just be on my way to being forever single with the kind of attitude I’m putting up these days. What man will have time for me when I don’t have time for him? Thank God my juju has locked Igwe down. He ain’t going no where!<\/p>\n

In the meantime in between time (so corny, I know), I’ll work on not being overly expressive, although I have not the slightest idea how to even go about this. I’ll keep you updated.<\/p>\n

P.S.<\/strong> My Instagram challenge has been a bit of a fail. Jury is still out on how epic the fail has been. I successfully put up 3 selfies for three consecutive days, but on the 4th, 5th, and 6th, I forgot. So we can either look at this as a 50% success rate or a 50% failure rate. I’ll pick the former.<\/p>\n

P.P.S.<\/strong> I know the site looks different. Funny story. It’s kind of a mistake, although I like some of its features. The tabs at the top have disappeared, but bear with me, they’ll come back. I’m making a few changes to the look, nothing drastic.<\/p>\n
