These African students are\u00a0G\u00e9rard Niyondiko and Moctar Demb\u00e9l\u00e9 … from Burkina Faso, and they created an anti-Malaria soap called, Faso<\/em>. If this works, then I hope it makes it to Nigeria, so that my people can stop dying of such a nonentity of an illness. But err, before you send it to Nigeria, kindly stamp it with “Made in USA.” This will ensure that the market sells very well. Thank you.<\/p>\n

Seriously though, this is a good thing, and I wish them the best. If this works as it should, I can only imagine the kind of difference they will make.<\/p>\n

Two students in Burkina Faso, pulled their science knowledge and resources together to invent a mosquito repelling soap in order to prevent malaria.\u00a0G\u00e9rard Niyondiko and Moctar Demb\u00e9l\u00e9, both students at\u00a0Intsitut International de l\u2019Eau et de l\u2019Envirronement de Ouagadougou (International Institute of water and environment) in Burkina Faso, were awarded this year\u2019s\u00a0Global Social Venture Competition (GSVC) $25,000 Grand Prize.\u00a0The GSVC is the only international competition of Social Business Plans, dedicated to students, young graduates, and entrepreneurs with high social and\/or environmental startups. They are also the first student team from Africa to ever win the Grand Prize.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe soap will be available first here, and then given to NGO\u201d, Gerard Niyondiko, Technical Manager of Faso soap said in a video that was posted online today.<\/p>\n

Their invention, called Faso Soap, is\u00a0made from karate citronella, and other herbs found locally in Burkina Faso, that are still a secret.<\/p>\n
