It’s crazy that by the time I’m putting up my weekend recount, another weekend is already upon me. There is so much I have to<\/del> want to blog about, but the time is nowhere to be found. I’m working on a lot of things, most of which I cannot talk about right now because I don’t want to jinx it. I fare a lot better when I work in secrecy. Don’t judge me.<\/p>\n

So I’m going to make it easier for you<\/del> me by only recounting interesting or eventful weekends. Instead of giving you a weekend recount of me sleeping all day, I will save it for when I actually do something. That way, we’re both happy.<\/p>\n

FRIDAY:<\/strong> I woke up to hear the horrid news of another crazy mass shooter taking innocent lives of people that went to see the latest Batman movie. I would never be able to comprehend why mass shooters exist, or why a person – no matter how deranged – will pick mass shooting as his way of showing the world that he’s angry. Whatever happened to just jumping off a bridge and hurting only yourself (maybe a few sea lives, too)? It was such a senseless tragedy, did not have to happen at all. May the souls of the lives lost on that day rest in peace. And may God Almighty comfort the family and friends of the fallen.<\/p>\n

In spite of the tragedy, Igwe and I still went out to see the Batman movie on Friday night. The movie theater was still packed. And I noticed that there were a lot more uniformed men than usual. Still, I sat nervously in my seat, and I eyed everyone suspiciously. When the guy in front of us laughed weirdly as he fell into his seat, I felt very uncomfortable. Every scene that had gone shots had me squirming. And there were a lot of shooting scenes. So you can imagine how this three-hour movie made me feel. I nearly sprinted to the car when the movie was over, just in case a mad man was lurking outside. Great movie, by the way.<\/p>\n

SATURDAY:<\/strong> It was my 100th episode of The Verastic Show<\/strong><\/a> – can hardly believe it, and I was very excited, as you can imagine. I co-hosted with Benny Bing, my producer and Slash Wisdom (he’s a mad man, but he doesn’t know it yet). We talked about the ultimate punishment(s) for cheating spouses and partners. Like putting itching powder in the underwear, coating their food with rat poison, shredding and burning up all their priced possessions, etc. Hey, I didn’t come up with these ideas. It rained almost all day, but thankfully, it had died down in the evening by the time we were ready to drive to Laurel (about an hour away) for the one-year birthday party of Tomi (a friend’s daughter). There were lots of familiar faces at the event, and it was nice hanging out with them again. The celebrant clearly had no idea it was her party. She was preoccupied with opening every goody bag she could find.<\/p>\n
