Let me disappoint you from the beginning now; I do not have any pictures for this weekend’s recount. Somehow, I forgot to take pictures. I don’t know how that happened. But I won’t let that stop me from giving you a recount.<\/p>\n
Friday:<\/strong> It was solo date night for me. I stayed home and watched OnDemand movies till about midnight. I also happened to find a bunch of things online that I have my eyes on. They include high waist pants, platform [block] heels, a white envelop clutch, and much more! May the good Lord provide for my insatiable needs. On a serious note, I need help. I don’t know what’s going on with me. I find myself browsing internet shops for clothes, shoes, bags, accessories, and err, the Samsung Galaxy S III (and its colorful covers, although I don’t even have the phone yet. I’ll blog more about this later).<\/p>\n Saturday:<\/strong> It was a busy day. First of all, I woke up early for the show. I got ready, prepped myself (via notes and social media). \u00a0When the show was over, I had a meeting with my producer, Benny as usual, then I rushed off to Macy’s. They were having a one-day sale for bras (buy two, get two free). Bra shopping has to be one of the worst. The thought of going into the dressing room, taking off my blouse and my bra, and then putting on the new bras, which may or may not fit is an absolute torture. You have to unhook, hook, and unhook again. Not fun!<\/p>\n When I got into the stall, I was so tired that I had to sit down for a few minutes. Walahi, The Verastic Show<\/a><\/strong> just drains my energy, but I absolutely love doing it. Thankfully, I went home with four new bras. Now I just need to go through my bra drawer and discard four old bras (that’s my personal rule). Speaking of bras, I still don’t understand why such a little piece of garment can cost more than a full dress. I need to start sewing my own bras.<\/p>\n Igwe followed me to Macy’s, but I left him in the men’s section to go handle my business. By the time I was done, he had purchased himself a brand new suit. I didn’t complain because it accompanied a much-coveted\u00a0watch for me. Of course, I’m fair like that. \ud83d\ude00<\/p>\n By the time we were done shopping, we were so hungry that we stopped by to get some Chinese food. Neither of us had had breakfast, and it was already past 5PM. Back home, I had to hurry and take a shower and get dressed, and off we went to a wedding reception. The couple looked so happy! I hear they danced their asses off. Too bad I couldn’t see or hear it. I was seated at the back and children were running up and down the place like Ronald McDonald was in town. Mental note:<\/strong> absolutely no children allowed at my reception. They can come when baby turns one<\/em>.<\/p>\n The hall was stuffed! I felt like I was in an oven, and I get very uncomfortable in the heat. So there I was, feeling like there was a furnace inside my dress, and to top it off, a good ol’ marching band was having a carnival on my head (Read: pounding headache!). When I couldn’t take it anymore, I stepped outside and sat on the bench. Cool air. Less noise. Less people. My friend, Uzo joined me immediately, and we sat down there and talked till past midnight. Igwe, his friends, his brother, Funmie, and Uzo’s husband later joined us. By the time we left, it was past midnight and everyone else had left — including the bride and groom.<\/p>\n Sunday<\/strong>: No church for me. I stayed home and watched the Christian Channel. Although I don’t care much for him, I actually enjoyed John Hagee’s sermon about desperate housewives of the bible. Then I was off to Uzo’s house to pick her up. From there, we drove to my aunt’s house to pick up some items, then we were off to a family friend’s baptism party for her baby. There were no sodas. Just water and wine. Well, who were we to say no to wine (or err water)?<\/p>\n We left at about 8PM and returned to Uzo’s house where we talked about everything from men to children to parents and parenthood. I left at about 11pm. Home. Home. Home. By the time I took a shower and got ready for the next day ….<\/p>\n Well, I started my Monday tweets with this tweet.
