Remember that about two weeks ago, I blogged about the infidelity-based site, AshleyMadison<\/a><\/strong>? I blogged about it because though the site isn’t a new one, I had only just discovered it that day. And I also knew that I would put this post up today. If you are a married man, this is time to pay attention.<\/p>\n

According to Noel Biderman, the founder of AshleyMadison, for the past four years, his infidelity-based site has seen a steady incline in women signing up on one particular Monday. And that would be the Monday after Mother’s Day. It appears that on Monday after Mother’s Day, women begin to realize that their husbands are not appreciating them as mothers. It’s not like they begin to realize it that day per se, but more like, their husband’s actions – or lack of thereof – just confirm their thoughts and justify their anger.<\/p>\n

According to Biderman,\u00a0“If that day comes to pass, and once again what [women] experience is a lack of appreciation, affection and respect, that is when the idea of taking on a potential lover takes full form.”<\/em> He went on further to say, “I think Mother’s Day embraces more of what the image of a\u00a0\u2018wife’ is in most couples’ minds. It includes family and extended family, and for many, that further highlights potential marital dysfunction.”<\/em><\/p>\n

36-year old Annette* said that her husband’s lack of affection has caused her to dread Mother’s Day. \u00a0She said, “I worry that I’m a bad mother because my husband does not praise me or thank me … I know Mother’s Day is a day to honor my mom and to be honored by my children, but after 11 years of marriage, eight of those as a mom, I long to hear affirmation from the father of my children.”<\/em><\/p>\n

The good news is that you still have a chance to do something and avoid what may be an impending doom, as Mother’s Day isn’t here yet. It’s coming up this Sunday, May 13th 2012. \u00a0The bad news is that if you did not do anything for the past few years, your case may already be past redemption.<\/p>\n

The best news, however, is that I am hopeful mother (Read: NOT expectant – yet<\/em>), and I am currently accepting Mother’s Day gifts. You’re welcome.<\/p>\n
