Happy Valentine’s Day, my lovelies! I will not bore you with too many words on this oh-so-romantic day. But if for whatever reason, you need some timeless comic relief, then I’ll suggest you read this<\/strong><\/a>. Otherwise, let me let you in on a little bit of my Valentine’s Day. I don’t even know if it counts.<\/p>\n

This is one of the cards I’m going to give him. It’s just midnight here, so Valentine just started for us. I’ll give him the cards in the morning. \u00a0You’re basically reading this card before the addressee. Imagine his surprise<\/del> shock when he opens this blog and finds his most priced possession – yes, of course, I’m talking about this paper card – splattered on the internet. Every intention – if he had one – of keeping it a secret is now officially null and void. I’m not sure why this excites me. Fortunately for you, I cannot post the rest of the gifts.<\/p>\n

So, I’m a card lover. I have a card box where I keep cards that I don’t even have to use yet, like first year wedding anniversary. Hey, don’t laugh. My friend, Deola says I should act as though things are, though they aren’t yet. It’s a principle from the bible. I have tried to use this same principle and logic on my friends, telling them to step out in faith and act as if I’m engaged and throw me a bridal shower. I might have as well been speaking to rocks. They refused to do it. I’m still pleading my case anyway.<\/p>\n

Before today’s Valentine, my best one was the one of 2009 because I got a surprise guest. It was so, so sweet of him to have done that. All other Valentine’s Days, it’s been one of the following: (1)<\/strong> I’m not in a relationship\/I have no romantic interest or (2)<\/strong> I’m in a relationship\/I have a romantic interest that I want nothing to do with or (3)<\/strong> There’s a romantic interest who is far, far away in a land I cannot get to. That was then. Things are much, much different this year. That said, all you men that are trying to avoid giving your women gifts because of the subsidy removal, warn yourself oh.<\/p>\n

The card is addressed to Igwe<\/em> from Lolo<\/em>. You can guess which one I am. He started calling me Lolo<\/em>, so I figured I should reciprocate. A Lolo needs an Igwe for much more than leadership. What was that I said about not writing too much today? I wish you a Happy Valentine’s Day. I pray love finds you, and when it does, I pray you’re ready and open to receive it. For everyone who has already found love, I wish you growth, meaningfulness, and peace.<\/p>\n
