When I first came to America, one of my happiest days was the day I found out that I could go to the library and borrow books for free. Whattttt!!!!!! Let’s rewind.<\/p>\n
I don’t know if there were free libraries in Nigeria – Jos, specifically (apart from the ones in school) where you could borrow an unlimited number of books AND the library had a decent selection. I do not remember that. Maybe they existed, but I don’t remember. My mom used to buy me books to read, but I always read them too quickly. Once I entered<\/em> under the table with a book, it was over. In America, my mom did not have to spend a penny on books; she only needed to take me to the library, and I’d select twenty to thirty books. <\/p>\n That was when I was not adulting, of course. These days, I don’t go to the library to borrow books. Instead, I buy them on Amazon. However, I have not been reading half as much as I used to. Being an adult comes with responsibilities that do not allow me to curl up under the table and read from night to morning.<\/p>\n Recently, however, I read Call Me Legachi, written by Adesuwa O’man Nwokedi. I knew nothing of her before I bought her book in Nigeria. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it, so I’m sharing it with you. If you like romance novels that have you smiling as you turn the pages, then you’ll like this book. The main character is Legachi, and the book is set partly in Lagos, Nigeria, but mostly in London, England.
