This is the first post in the new series I introduced a while back. It’s called The Manny Posts.  So if you’re reading this post and wondering what I’m going on about, here’s a short summary: I wrote a post about having writer’s block<\/strong><\/a>, and my Sweet Potato, Manny bought me a journal with 300 writing prompts. I have decided to share my thoughts in the journal on here with you. These posts will be called The Manny Posts, and you can read the original post here<\/strong><\/a>. Writing prompt: write about a memorable experience you have had staying in a hotel<\/h3>\n

\"The<\/p>\n

Mother’s Day 2018! I spent Mother’s Day in a hotel. I don’t even remember what hotel it was now. Nope, I take that back. I now remember the hotel, and it shall remain unnamed.<\/p>\n

I have had three Mother’s Day celebrations since I became a mom, and 2018 was the third one. Before I became a mom, I always thought it was funny when moms said that all they wanted for Mother’s Day was to be left alone, but I surely found out after I became a mom, and in 2018, I especially found out.<\/p>\n

I did not spend this Mother’s Day with Ada Verastic. One would have thought that I spent the day looking into her eyes and admiring her, but no, I didn’t. In fact, not only did I not spend Mother’s Day with Ada Verastic, but the entire weekend was spent without her. I spent it in that hotel. I slept, woke up, watched TV, did some other things and repeated as many times as possible.<\/p>\n

Breakfast happened downstairs in the breakfast room. Sitting there with all those strangers made me have nostalgic feelings about blog conferences. I did not attend any blog conference last year, and so far, I have not attended any this year, so every time I sat there to eat, I could not resist the urge to talk about missing blog conferences – especially BlogHer.<\/p>\n

Between breakfast, the naps, the inactivity, and the cashew nut and granola bar snacks, I didn’t need lunch. For dinner, I ordered food and had it delivered. I was determined to not leave my room. Although I had my laptop, I did not get any work done. I did not even attempt to turn it on. But I had it fully charged though!<\/p>\n

It’s easy to get caught up with being busy because being busy is celebrated and glorified. But being busy does not necessarily mean being productive. I have had many moments of being busy but not productive. Also, sometimes, you just need to rest and do nothing.<\/p>\n

For Mother’s Day, all I wanted and needed was to rest and do nothing. Not a single thing. And I accomplished that. I did not write. I did not cook. I did not drive. I did not have a toddler climbing me and tugging me and calling me a hundred times per minute. I had rest. <\/p>\n

This journal asks for my most memorable experience in a hotel, and this was mine to date – although the experience itself had nothing to do with the hotel. I would have probably had the same experience at almost any other place.<\/p>\n

So there you have it, Sweet Potatoes. I have published my first Manny Post. Thank you again, Manny. You are bae.<\/p>\n
