When you’re just so innocent<\/p><\/div>\n

Oyibo people call this outfit a matching set. In Nigeria, this is simply “up and down.”  Like I mentioned in my introductory style post<\/strong><\/a>, the purpose of these style posts is to share my style with you as I grow and evolve; the purpose isn\u2019t to tell you what\u2019s currently fashionable or trendy. But if I do happen to be on trend, I\u2019ll share that too (and I’ll thank the Lord, God Almighty).<\/p>\n

\"Matching<\/p>\n

This up and down outfit came from New York & Company, and I have an interesting relationship with New York & Company. Sometimes, I go in there and want to walk out with everything, and sometimes, I go in there and walk out five seconds later with nothing.<\/p>\n

I forgot my sunglasses, so Tayo (the photographer) borrowed me hers<\/p><\/div>\n

About this outfit:<\/strong> I spotted the top first, and I went straight for it because I loved the colors and lines. I also have a like-dislike relationship with showing my arms. I never love or hate showing them, but with this top, I actually LOVED showing them.<\/p>\n

I picked up the top before I realized that it came with a matching skirt, and that was when I just HAD to have them. There was only 1 skirt left in the store, and it was not my size, but they were able to order it for me and it came to the house.  Unfortunately, I bought it so long ago that it\u2019s no longer available online, so I can’t link to it. It was barely available in the store sef.<\/p>\n

The slingbacks that won’t let me be great<\/p><\/div>\n

About the shoes:<\/strong> I bought them so long ago. Years ago, really.  I like them, but this is only the second or third time I\u2019ve worn them. The slings at the back always fall off my heel, and they no longer seem to fit. They\u2019re a size 9.5, but they feel like a 10, so I doubt if I\u2019ll wear them again. But hey, they\u2019re cute though, and I looking at them on my shoe rack. My plan was to wear this outfit with a pair of white heels, but procrastination did not let me be great. I never got around to ordering one before the shoot day. I currently do not own a pair of white heels.<\/p>\n

\"Matching<\/p>\n

The hair:<\/strong> I bought this wig in February, I believe. And it’s my first blonde wig ever. I’ve been wanting to experiment with blonde hair forever and find out if blondes really do have the most fun, but I have always been too shy. I’ve felt like it’d be too loud, or it won’t look good on me. But shit, I love it. As for whether or not blondes have more fun, the experiment has to be repeated.<\/p>\n

So, Sweet Potatoes, this concludes my first style post. I have to say it\u2019s more time-consuming than I like, but I won\u2019t abandon ship, I promise. Also, the photographer took so many great shots that I had a hard time picking these out.<\/p>\n

P.S.<\/strong> Models, style influencers, and photographers deserve some serious accolades oh! Although these pictures were taken “early” in the morning, it was 20 degrees past hell, and you know how much I hate being hot.<\/p>\n
