Yesterday, BlogHer broke the blogging internet by telling us that Kim Kardashian will be keynoting the BlogHer16 conference next month. Honestly, my first reaction was ugh … why Kim Kardashian? Two years ago, there was Kerry Washington, and last year, there was Ava DuVernay, and this year, my biggest excitement has been Mayim Bialik because … Amy Farrah\u00a0Fowler. But then I thought about it some more and I thought, hmmm, there’s a lot I could learn from her actually<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Kim is an incredibly polarizing figure, and even among the bloggers, people are split about how they feel. Some people have threatened to not come for lunch when she’s speaking, and some have even threatened to not attend BlogHer16 completely because Kim Kardashian isn’t someone they want to listen to speak. Someone said she was closing her account at BlogHer because of Kim Kardashian. Considering Kim Kardashian’s history (and current life really), it’s understandable that some people don’t want to be associated with her, but when it comes to the BlogHer Conference, there are four main reasons why Kim Kardashian should keynote BlogHer16.<\/p>\n

1) \u00a0She is a successful entrepreneur:<\/strong>\u00a0The fact that you are paying money and possibly traveling to a new city to attend a conference for bloggers means that you are somewhat invested in blogging and possibly in entrepreneurship, too. Most of us bloggers are either full-time bloggers or aspiring full-time bloggers; we have some spirit of entrepreneurship in us. And Kim Kardashian is already excelling in it.<\/p>\n

2) \u00a0Kin Kardashian knows how to harness the power of social media:<\/strong> A huge chunk of the blogger life is social media. When I first started blogging (ten years ago), there was no Twitter or Instagram or Periscope or Pinterest or Snapchat. The story is different today. A blogger without a social media presence is like — like —- when you’re starving and cooking with a slow cooker. Sure, it’s possible<\/em> to blog without social media, but you’ll go half the distance in double the time. Kim Kardashian has millions of followers worldwide. When you talk about being a social media influencer, Kim Kardashian is it.<\/p>\n

3) \u00a0There is ALWAYS room to learn:<\/strong> No one knows everything. And no one even knows everything that they do not know. No matter how much you believe that Kim Kardashian’s morals conflict yours, there is still something you can learn from her. I would personally love to learn how to be so influential because more influence can mean more money, and I would love to have more money. I would like to count my money in billions. Why not?<\/p>\n

4) \u00a0She won’t teach us how to make\/market sex tapes:<\/strong> Several people have mentioned how they have no interest in learning how to make or market sex tapes. Well, I think we can all take a deep breath and relax because I don’t think she will be teaching us that. Plus, if it makes you feel better, it’s probably going to be difficult to recreate that tape because you’re going to need some massive tools that you may not currently have. Hi Ray J!<\/p>\n

I may have listed 4 reasons for Kim Kardashian to keynote BlogHer16, but really, there’s just one main reason: she’s a female entrepreneur who’s killing it, and we have much to learn from her. End of discussion.<\/p>\n

If Kim Kardashian can teach me how to make power moves, be a boss lady, make lots of money to take care of my family very comfortably, and stay gorgeous the whole time, then I’ll be happy. Also if she could just tweet that I’m the coolest Nigerian girl she has ever never met, that would be awesome! So, hey, Kimmie, just tweet below *big smile*<\/strong><\/p>\n

Whatever the case may be, I will be at the BlogHer16 Conference in Los Angeles next month, and I’ll be coming with Igwe and Ada Verastic. At the last BlogHer Conference<\/strong><\/a>, I was six months pregnant with Ada Verastic, and this time, she will be 9 months post-womb.<\/p>\n

This will be my third consecutive time at the BlogHer Conference, and I keep going because I love it and I have gained a lot from it (but not as much money as Kim Kardashian. Yet). The conference starts exactly two weeks from today and tickets are still available, so it’s not too late to come on down. You can purchase your BlogHer16 ticket here<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n
