the accident I had on March 31st<\/a><\/strong>, but May – especially toward the end – was a lot more organized. It was a bit busy – business wise – here on the blog, which I love, but I feel bad sometimes when I post multiple sponsored posts. \u00a0It’s never my intention to do so, but sometimes, these things come in rapid succession. Nevertheless, I’m trying – walahi I am – to give you better, more sincere, more personal posts.<\/p>\nOh, so Nigeria now has a new President: General Muhammadu Buhari. Congratulations, Sir! Every time I hear him speak, I get tickled because of his Hausa accent. I lived in the North – Jos, Plateau State – so I’m used to the accent. However, I’ve been living in America for 15 years, and I barely hear the Hausa accent. As a matter of fact, I barely come across Hausa people.<\/p>\n
May has been a most beautiful month. It’s not that anything out of the ordinary happened per se, but I found myself being very, very grateful to God for His grace. I was so grateful for us [Igwe and I] being able to accomplish a number of personal goals and scratch them off our list. Thank You, Lord, and I’m looking forward to June.<\/p>\n
Speaking of June, my mommy’s birthday was last week. The woman has lived to see yet another year, thank God. She hasn’t changed. She’s still little and yellow and very sarcastic. I have been blogging for 9 years, and I am yet to put up a picture of my parents. I’m so protective of them. I want you to e-meet them, but I always chicken out. Maybe next year. If you see a picture of my mommy first, you’ll swear I look like her. Then when you see a picture of my daddy, you’ll change your mind.<\/p>\n
Summer is here, and on my list of fashion-related wants are maxi dresses, floppy hats, cute [flat] sandals, and nice totes and satchels. Maybe a few sunglasses. I don’t ask for much. I just wanna be comfortable and cute — and not sweating. Pretty much like every other day.<\/p>\n
I have not traveled in so long. I’m hoping to make it somewhere – even if it’s to freaking Washington D.C. I just need to leave my house and pack a luggage and go somewhere and spend the night there. I’m working on it. There’s so much of the world to see and I am already way behind. I have so much catching up to do on life. When I start talking\/writing like this, I am tempted to go into details and tell you the context of what I am saying, but I can’t. Not yet. I have so much to tell you, Sweet Potatoes.<\/p>\n
