This year has really, really been amazing. There have been many changes in my life, some more subtle than others. One of my most exciting changes is my change in schedule. This year has presented me with a busier schedule doing what I actually love doing. I have more speaking and hosting gigs, and ridiculously happy.
So you’re probably thinking, what does this have to do with Kia? Well, I’ll tell you. Normally, I don’t drive much. Most times, I’m at home doing one Verastic work or the other. Or sleeping, of course. But because of my change in schedule, things have been different. I find myself having to drive more and more to one place or the other. So now, more than ever, I need a reliable car.
And that is how Kia happened. To be more specific, Kia Forte happened. I have been stalking the Kia website everyday – no lies – to look at the Kia Forte pictures. You know that I develop an obsessive behavior whenever I find something I love – men excluded. Well, my Kia Forte isn’t different.
I am officially in the market for a Kia Forte. And by that, I mean that I am dreaming of it every day, looking at its pictures online, and imagining myself driving it. In my head, I have gone on a road trip from Baltimore to Miami (Yes, I’m still in Miami mode). If you had asked me some years ago if I would drive a Kia, I would have said no, and it wouldn’t have been because I knew much (or anything at all) about Kia, but because of my perception of it. But it’s a new day, and levels have changed. Have you seen the Kia cars lately? I’m almost breaking my neck to look at a Kia on the road. They are so sleek!
The good news is that I already know what I know from my Kia Forte
- I need a car that is fuel efficient. I know what it’s like to have a gas guzzler, and I would like to never experience that again.
- I need a car that is compact without making me look like a whale in a bath tub.
- I want it to be sleek and pretty without being aesthetically-challenged.
- Speaking of aesthetics, I want it to be functional without costing me an arm and a leg.
I checked out many brands, and I kept coming back to the Kia Forte. On the Kia website, it says that the Forte is “Loved by those who love technology.” Well, hello Forte! My name is Vera Ezimora, and I would like to drive you.
The bad news is that I still have two questions on my mind:
- What color should I buy? Abyss Blue (because it’s bright and colorful), Crimson Red (because it’s bold), Metalic Bronze (because it’s colorful without being too much of an attention seeker), or Aurora Black (because let’s face it, everything looks good in Black).
- Will my Forte be a boy or a girl?
- What will I name him or her?
I am really, really looking forward to owning this car. I’m looking forward to showing up at speaking and hosting events in this car. And I am looking forward to having an all-around memorable summer (which it already is anyway).

P.S. Is it too late to post a to-do summer list?
