I don’t know how my weekend recounts usually make it on the blog in the middle of the week when I’m already prepping for the following weekend. Seven days simply isn’t enough for one week, and 24 hours isn’t enough for one day. Is it too late to add days and hours? I think not.
Friday: Igwe and I went on a double date with his good friend, Pelumi and his girl, Sade. (Or is it spelled as Shade?). We went bowling, and I am disappointed to tell you that I did not win — neither did Igwe. But in my defense, I had just gotten my nails done some days prior and I was not about to ruin a perfectly good manicure because I was bowling. Nah uh. Pelumi was first overall, I was second, Igwe was third, and well, we know Sade’s position. Ha! Sade, sorry oh! The final scores were so close. If we had gone a couple more rounds, I would have beaten Pelumi. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
Pelumi was one of the people who came to our home during the Superbowl and dared to support the other team (the 49ers, but in his face, we won!). But Pelumi taunted the heck out of us on Friday. Not to worry, we are planning a game night at our home, so Pelumi should prepare for a beat down. Pelumi, I know you’re reading this, so prepare to go down! It’s on now! Anyway, we did not get home till about 1am. Oh, and I had two glasses of some pina colada thing that tasted like sugar and coconut. Loved it! It had alcohol, but I could barely taste it.
Saturday: After The Verastic Show, I took a well-deserved nap. Then Igwe and I went to see The Best Man Holiday. That was a really, really, REALLY good movie. You can read my sorta review of it here.
Sunday: After church, we went for Deola’s baby shower in Bowie. It was the best baby shower ever, and I will tell you why. I’m usually somehow heavily involved in baby showers, but not this time. This time, I only had to do a little. And the best part is, I was home before 7 pm. I did not even have to do games. It may not sound like a big deal to you, but after every single baby shower that I do games for, I lose my voice. It’s not easy coordinating a group of Nigerian people.
The bad thing is that I did not take any pictures, which is a shame because I was looking all shades and manners of fine *snaps finger*, if I do say so myself. I had on a butt-hugging pencil skirt, and I just love when my skirt hugs my butt. *sigh* I’ll take pictures next time.
That’s it for my weekend. How was yours?
