Journal #9: September 2015

Welcome to October.

Although, considering that it’s already October 13th, perhaps I’m a little late in welcoming you to the new month. Forgive me. My most exciting news for September was the baby news! I confessed on here that Igwe and I are expecting a baby, and most of you Sweet Potatoes were doubting me. Ah! My God will vindicate me soon. When the baby comes and I post pictures of him/her, you better not look oh! Don’t let me catch you looking. Ehen.

Anyway, in the month of September, I was blessed with two surprise baby showers. Not one, but two! The first one was organized by my darling work friends, and the second one was organized by “Funmie and them.” For the first baby shower, we took pictures on my phone, so I will try to post those this week – maybe even tomorrow. And for the second baby shower, there was a professional photographer and I don’t have the pictures yet. I’m so eager to see them. I still owe you maternity pictures, too, I know. I won’t disappoint.

On the business (blog) side, I got to attend another blog conference. I attended the Blogalicious conference, targeted at multicultural influencers. It was held here in Baltimore, so I couldn’t miss it. It was my first time attending this particular conference, and this year’s theme was “Build Your Own Empire,” and my, oh my, isn’t that what I am trying to do? I walked away with so much knowledge, although at some point, I started suffering from too much information. Or maybe New Information Fatigue. Still, it was worth every cent and second of my time. Come 2016, I hope to attend more conferences.
