In the past 24 hours, the world has heard about one Mr. Joseph Kony. If you have not heard, you must be living under a rock — literally. Kony is a Ugandan terrorist. His specialty is children. He turns the little girls into sex slaves and the little boys into soldiers, forcing them to do barbaric things, like kill their parents and deform people’s faces.
Jason Russel, an amateur filmmaker is confronting us with the truth that we may not have known or seen. He’s shining light on Kony, and it is remarkable what Jason and his team has done. When I first watched the documentary two days ago, it had 9 million views. Now it has 52 million views. A-List celebrities like Oprah, George Clooney, Taylor Swift, Justin Beiber, and more have been spreading the news. This video has become a global sensation. Talk about the power of social networks.
