Turns out I am one – or possibly many – of these. I am officially in the job market for a nine to five job, and it’s not pretty out there! I don’t know what’s worse: filling out the applications or waiting for a call. This would be a good time to know someone who works in the field and can get me into that HR office right now.
Anyway, so there I was filling out a form online again, and I don’t even remember from which website I pulled this one out from: Indeed? Monster? Career Builder? Who knows these days? In the top, there’s a picture of a diverse group of people. What I saw when I looked at the picture: young, old, black, white, male, female. And then, I smiled satisfactorily because my brain said, “Equal opportunity employer!” – not that this disclaimer is a solid proof.
This is the actual picture that sent me down the path of being anything but straight.
I had already filled out the first page with my name, e-mail address, password, and desire to receive more job opportunities from LGBT before I realized what LGBT stands for: Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender. Choooooiiiiiii! My people, that was how I became whatever it is that I am right now, according to this site. I suspect now that this may be how some people became converted.
I don’t usually blog about work. In fact, in the almost-seven years that I have been blogging, this may actually be the first time that I am writing about work. And even this isn’t technically any kind of disclosure. But yes, I am in the market for a new job. Pray for me. And err, don’t worry, it will not affect my blog. I have been known to accomplish more in my busiest times.
P.S. What’s the point of uploading a résumé if you’re still going to have to answer all the same questions in the tedious application form: current employer, past employers, skills, education … what the frack! I already said all these in my résumé.

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhaahhhahahahahahaha ony you Vera!!!! and while we are onthe subject i hope you know what a rainbow coloured flag symbolises lest you stick on yout bumper lol
*stick one on your bumper* that is
Lol! Whatever, Pendo. I am not that bad. Hahahaha. Yes, I know what a rainbow flag/sticker means. But honestly, I think it’s unfair that they get the rainbow flag. What happens to straight people who like rainbows? Not fair!
I feel your pain. I hate, hATE, HATE filling out the job history section and like you, I wonder why oh why in the world I have to do that after uploading my resume.
Buhahahahhaha, always knew u had it in u!!!! Vera for d people! Good luck on the job search
Nonsense girl. He can you say you always knew I had it in me. I will wound you oh. The job search is just annoying …. and clearly trying my patience. Ugh.
