First of all, happy new month! Secondly, no, no, it’s not my wedding anniversary. We are not quite there yet. It’s Solachi and Frank who are celebrating their 10th wedding anniversary. Honestly, it feels like it was not that long ago that Solachi told me about “this guy” that someone introduced her to.
A little backstory: I met Solachi when I first got to America 17 years ago, so yeah, I’ve known her for most of my life. We were in high school then, and we quickly became friends. I learned several things about Solachi very early on: (1) She’s fiercely loyal, (2) She’s emotional, (3) She wears her emotions on her sleeves, (4) She’s a terrible liar.
Solachi had several crushes when she was single, including one weed head like that in high school. He was short and not book smart (which is why he never did graduate), but he was cute though. I can admit that. Solachi always had crushes on the wrong guys. It was as if she woke up in the morning and asked herself, “Which asshole can I fall for today?” So when she told me about Frank and showed me his picture, I fell in love with him immediately. There was something about him. And I’m glad to report that I was right.
I was her maid of honor, and I feel like I, too, am married to them both. I love these people. Solachi has been a sister to me, and Frank has been more than a brother, especially in recent times.
Marriage is not easy. It takes constant work from the people involved. It doesn’t work when one person wants it more than the other person, or when one person is working harder than the other person. 10 years of marriage does not happen by chance. I am so happy for these two. Okay, I’m going to stop gushing now because Solachi will use my words against me and claim that I want her and that I love her and all that nonsense — which clearly, I don’t. *Drops mic, flips hair, walks away*
So, in this week’s episode of Verastic Life, we spent time with the lovebirds since one of the lovebirds (ahem Solachi) is the Ambassador of Cheap Land and refused to hire a real photographer. Enjoy.
As always, thank you very much for watching, and please don’t forget to SUBSCRIBE.
