Throwback Thursday: Remember The Music Videos?

Agatha Moses

It seems like only yesterday when we used to watch music videos on DVDs Video CDs. I don't know if YouTube did not exist then or if we were just not used to it, don't remember. All I know is that there were CDs upon CDs upon CDs with mostly poor quality music videos. If you wanted to see the music videos of contemporary artists like D'banj, 2Face, P Square et al, you had to purchase and watch a VCD that couldn't even skip scenes. It could forward, but not skip. I was never into them, not Continue Reading

Is Robin Thicke’s ‘Blurred Lines’ A Rape Song?

Robin Thicke Blurred Lines

Just in case you've been living under a rock (Hi Funmie!), Robin Thicke's song, Blurred Lines is currently America's number one song. I love the song. But then, I love Robin Thicke, too. I can count on one hand how many albums I have bought with my money, and Robin Thicke's 2006 album, The Evolution Of Robin Thicke is one of them. His new hit song, Blurred Lines featuring T.I. and Pharrell is getting played and downloaded like crazy. Unfortunately, there are critics who say that the song Continue Reading

New Video: Wande Coal ft Don Jazzy – The Kick

Wande Coal ft Don Jazzy -The Kick

Now you know I barely ever put up music videos, and this is because I am never current. By the time I discover a new song or video, everyone else has moved on. This time, however, I am a little current. Wande Coal's new video, The Kick featuring Don Baba J came out yesterday (I think), and I quite like it. Although the video doesn't really have anything that's new or unexpected, I still like it.  The only thing I like more than the video is the girls. I mean the two girls in the black and Continue Reading

Proof That Tonto ISN’T Part Of Illuminati

Tonto's alleged Illuminati

I learned yesterday of the unfortunate incident that Tonto's video for Hi is out. I saw it on a few blogs, and I skipped right past it. First of all, watching the video would be a complete waste of my time. Secondly, I knew that watching the video would cause a blog post - and not a nice one. So I decided not to watch it. You guys have no idea the kind of restraint I have to exercise on this blog and Twitter. Nigerian people just like dashing me material. Like that time Omotola sent a tweet Continue Reading

Official Video: Kenya Moore Releases Video For Her Single, “Gone With The Wind Fabulous”

Fake Porsha

Kenya Moore of Real Housewives of Atlanta released a video for her new single, Gone With The Wind Fabulous. I watched it from beginning to end, and  I still don't fully understand why she did it. The lyrics in this song were literally, "I'm gone with the wind fabulous ... now twirk ... twirk ... twirk." But I can say this much, this is Kenya Moore's first reality TV, and she is milking the hell out of it. I think we can all agree that all these women have their own issues, but Kenya is on a Continue Reading

A Different Kinda Thanksgiving … Kinda

Remember when Rebecca Black released that song Friday and everyone was screaming about how horrible it was? Well, we know now that she was just trying to be famous. Another song has come out - this time by Nicole Westbrook, and just like Friday,  it also features Patrice Wilson (AKA Fat Usher). He was the one who produced Rebecca Black's song by the way. The video currently has over 8 million hits, and it has about 17,000 likes and 122,000 dislikes. Still, this little girl has gone Continue Reading

You Ratchet!

I saw this video a couple weeks ago, and it got my attention. It's one of those things you're laughing at (because it's funny) and frowning at (because it's true). You have to know at least one girl that these women men errr people remind you of. Some of the funniest lines ... "Girl, let me tell you what I got my Mister-Mister ... a baby boy, and it came with a sister ..." "Go on beef it up ... moooooooooove tramp!" "It's the 15th, I got my foood stamp ... " "Got a brand new Continue Reading

D’banj’s New Video: What Do You Think Of It?

D'banj released a video of his popular song, Oliver Twist. I love that song. Sometimes, I play it over and over. Favorite part is the part where he says, "Oh, why you dey shaky shaky bum bum? .... for this gbedu you must needi needi bum bum ..." I always think of Funmie cause she had absolute nooooo bum bum. But we're believing that the young shall grow. Anyway, recent events have made me dislike D'banj - the person. But D'banj the entertainer is still entertaining --- for now. Watch the video Continue Reading

My Flavor (Ringtone) Of The Week

Yes, yes. I am one of those people who use songs as my ringtone. Judge me all you want. And I change my ringtone like every week, kind of. My current flavor of the week (started yesterday morning) is Ara by Brymo. I fell in love with Brymo when he featured in Ice Prince's song, Oleku. I loved that song - not because of anything Ice Prince rapped, but simply because of Brymo's smooth voice. Anyway, I like the video, too. I won't say love, but I definitely like it. There are no naked chics running Continue Reading
